Arrow Spot the leak, win a cookie

Alright, any help with a small leak in my soft top would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some shots:
Water drips on to the passenger side door latch:

A shot of the suspected area on the soft top/frame:

A shot of the door corner molding:

Thanks for any help

2007.

So it's not the top you think, but the molding around the door? Right on, i'll get another piece of corner molding and slap it on. Hopefully that will do the trick!

Thanks man!

Does this look right? Can you take another shot of how the soft top attaches to your header? Right at the windshield. And one of the whole top from about 10 feet back?

I think your top is installed incorrectly. It's too far from the windshield, and water is probably pouring in.

It should look more like this:

Name:	a1.jpg
Views:	65
Size:	24.4 KB
ID:	23092

Take your header off, loosen the back corners, and then re-attach the header. Make sure it's really pushed forward.

And send that photo off to csbestop@bestop.com for more hints and suggestions.

Did anyone else chuckle and feel the irony of that 2011 Wrangler interior spy shot on allpar inadvertently(I assume) showing the door panels all wet ?

Same leak I have...I don't worry about it any more...just keep a towel handy and with a quick wipe, water gone. Your top does look like it's not "forward" enough...but that is not the reason for the leak...my top is tight and right and it still leaks in that spot. I have tried extra foam to no avail...just doesn't bother me any more!

There is a piece of thin rubber that can get pinched in the door frame trim
if you are not careful reinstalling them. Mine leaked the same way and found
the rubber was not in place. see pic below of the rubber piece I am talking
about.

ETA: yours does look right, but your top does not look like it is pulled in as far as mine is
along the windshield frame.

I had my softie put on yesterday and the install tech at the dealer told me to make sure I didn't lose the little rubber bump stops on the latch clamps (the ones that latch to the windshield frame above the sunvisors) - he said if the bump stops are lost, the latches will actually re-extend and won't latch at their tightest point. This could then also lead to the gap you have I would suspect.

Mine looks just like the other example provided earlier in this thread.

Seems to me by the pictures that you are missing the door surrounds for proper soft top installation ...
