Here's a pic on a 2012. seems to be there for when you fold half the roof back (sun rider mode). I'd imagine you could forgo those and tie it down on the sides to the roll bar (tops from to the roll bar outside the spidertop). Or just measure carefully and stick two grommets directly through the spidertop where it should thread through etc.

Got to be a simple solution, it's a jeep.

Look on CG for an OEM take-off. I never took my Trektop out of the box because I had read that it could not be used with a spiderwebshade.

I picked up a SpiderWebShade while at EJS a couple weeks ago. Couldn't decide between Trail mesh or Ultra mesh but was told the Trail mesh wouldn't stretch enough for additional cage components. I ended up with the Ultra mesh to fit over the RockHard cage.

I am leaning towards the Dirty Dog Sun Screen for Jeep Wrangler JK 4 door 2 pc front and back seats.

Pros:
I Want to take the shade of easily if needed. DD seems easier to take just the front off. I don't have people in the back that much so leaving the back piece on is not a big deal.

For people that have either of these shades how often do you take it off? Would you take it off more it was easier?

I have heard flapping can be an issue with SS.

Cons:
DD only blocks 70%

DD is almost twice as much

So I have both; a one piece spiderwebshade that I use with the factory soft top and hardtop and a two piece dirty dog I got when I went to the offroad heros multi-top.

All of the points are spot on. The DD is less dense = more sun but, fits tighter to the edges and with snaps for the footman loops is easier to manage. I wanted the two piece as the ORH tops use a center channel bar and the top is basically two bikinis so this works well with it. The spider works well with the factory soft top as I mostly use the sunrider portion of that top and with the weight of the roof, I didn't get flapping.

Both have a place but if I had to only do one, I would go with the DD for the tighter fit and more options of a two piece. Here it is on the jeep with both roof sections of the ORH top removed.

Can you leave the DD on when you have the softop on? I know you can with the SS

Yes, both allow you to leave them on with the hard or soft top. The DD uses snaps to attach to the footman loops (where the soft top latches) instead of bungee balls which I find easier to put on and off as needed for the soft/hard top to attach.

Has anyone ever confirmed whether or not you can use the spiderwebshade under a Trektop NX? Seems that there are just as many folks who say you can and can't.

Anyone got pics?

I just picked up my Trektop NX and have the spiderwebshade on the way to me for next week. I won't even open the spiderweb box if it doesn't fit, but I haven't been able to confirm one way or the other.

Spiderwebshade - Center Holes

To help with the metal tabs hitting the metal center sound bar. I went to Home Depot & purchase installation tub used for water pipes. I put it in over the sound bar but under the Spiderwebshade & has helped with the clinking @ 50mph or higher. No more problems for the last few weeks.

I have the front JKini from SWS and don't really like the idea of the one piece safari. I was thinking of adding the DD rear portion for my dog. Will it fit no with problems??

I think it kind of depends on where you live; some places need more protection. Living in Arizona where the temps range from sub freezing to post 100's, I have decided to keep a bikini top on year round. Too hot in the summer not to have a full cover; in the winter I put the doors on and windows in.

PS I have Safari straps on my Jeep's rear year round.

We love our Spiderweb Shade on our JKU. No flapping at all. A complete bitch to get the last couple of Spiderballs on though.

I just purchased my second Spiderwebshade. The first one lasted 4 years, and is actually still in pretty good condition. I'll probably use the old one as a cargo net.

I've seen the Dirty Dog ones and they look nice, but I've been so happy with my Spiderwebshade that I saw no reason to switch to something else when it came time for another one.

My SS also flapped quite a bit at high speeds so I went to home depot and bought brass toilet tank bolts because they were long enough and had large heads and flat washers which I put through the holes in the sound bar. I also went to harbor freight and bought a grommet kit and 4 bungee balls. I put 2grommets, one on each side of the SS logo at the back and used the bungee balls to secure. Now my SS hardly moves, even on the expressway.

Glad you guys got a kick out of the pic haha.

I'm about to order another Spiderweb Shade for my future JKU. Just need to sell my CJ5 and Toyota Celica, then the JKU is mine! Could take months, so I'm starting up a collection of mods to put on her once I actually do get her.

Haven't seen a DD, but I can definitely attest to the quality of the Spiderweb Shade. Makes things a LOT nicer in the Georgia summer heat!!!

I was going to go with a DD in the rear but I think now I will go with the full SWS instead. I really like my JKini, but need coverage for dog. Just don't want something that flaps too much. I like products made in USA also.

Anyone know if you can get the DD somewhere other than the DD website. Just got a new JK with hardtop, and am heading down to Florida on Thursday for 2 weeks of vacation. Trying to get the DD before we head down, but know it will take too long to be shipped to TN from o'Canada.

extremeterrain.com. PM XTZach (sponsoring vendor) for the WF discount code.

I guess I will have to go with DD rear since nobody on any forum can tell me if the JKini will fit on the rear. I hate ordering from Canada. I know my ORH top took 10 days to get through customs.

I'm sure a quick call to SS would prove helpful (321-251-7258).
