Stalling Jeep Rubicon Need help

Hello I am a owner of a 2010 Jeep Rubicon, 2 dr, 3.8, 6 speed, with a 2.5 inch lift, 33x12.5 tires.

This jeep has 35,000 miles and I bought it used. When off road in 4x4 high 1st or 2nd gear it will start to run rough, lose rpms and stall out this happens frequently especially when going up mild grades. I did smell fuel one time. And while in 5" of snow on level ground I was backing up it stalled out 3 times in a distance of 20 feet.
While in 4x4 lo range works fine and has never stalled out.
I took it in 2 times, and the 2nd time the mechanic had the computer hooked up while I replicated the problem, nothing shows up. They were saying may be a gear ratio problem which I do not believe as there would be many more cases of this.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any advice?
