Steering problems

Hi,
The other day I was driving at around 110km/h when the steering started wobbling, this rapidly got worse, and felt like really badly balanced tyres.
I slowed down to about 60 km/h and the problem went away and didn't return for the rest of the trip.

I had the tyres checked for balancing and they are balanced. It has happened again twice now, both times at speed, on a slight left hand turn, starting with a slight wobble, and getting worse until the car slows down. Has anyone else had a similar problem, or have any suggestions as to the problem? Maybe the steering damper?

It is a 2007 JK wrangler 4 door. Stock standard suspension

My Bad...I take it you were doin around 70? My guess would be to get a new steering stabilizer. Heard of that problem before and that was the cure. Good Luck

Thanks, death wobble sounds like the problem!

I changed wheels, but they are the same size and have done 20,000 miles on them before the problem started.

by chance are you hearing any noise when turning your wheel that sounds like a cable or some sort moving?

I'm about to post a new thread where I am hearing "something" cable related when I move my wheel more then about 25 degrees left or right.

Hmm, no there doesn't seem to be any noise out of the ordinary, even on full lock
