Stock 16" Steel wheels w/285/75/16

I have a set of 285/75/16 fierce attitude m/t from my truck that I sold. My new jeep has 17 inch wheels on it. I'm thinking of buying a set of stock 16 inch steel wheels, painting them black and using the 285's as "winter tires". My question is - has anyone done anything like this or see any problems with it? Thanks.

You will be fine, don't see any problem. Your speedo will cheat 1.5 miles too fast with the 285's.

You will probably need to run spacers to clear everything properly, 285s are a lot wider than the 225s that came stock on those wheels. I was debating it, and I opted to buy new wheels rather than use my old ones and add spacers.
