Stock Bumper Painting body color match who's done it??

I was thinking about painting my stock bumper body color, has this been done w/ any success? Does the paint have a tendency to flake or peel ? What special preparation are needed to prevent having problems??

Thanks in advance

any pics people may have of this modification would be great also

I recently saw a pic of a Deep Cherry Red with an aftermarket bumper painted to match. I looked great. I can't find a link to it now but if I do I'll copy it here.

Color match tops and fenders is pushing it but a bumper is in my opinion kinda lame.... My guess is it would chip pretty easy even if prepped pretty well.

I like painted bumpers, but I would not consider painting the stock bumper on a jeep. There is to much flex with the material and I would think you would have cracking problems in short order. The finish is also not the same as the body so you may end up with a different look. Front bumpers take a good amount of abouse from Bugs, dirt and small stones hitting at 65 MPH and such. You want t good durable quality paint job with a thick clear coat if you would like it to last.

Here are the pics stroh may be talking about.
