Stock Radio Cutting Out

It happens a few different ways, if im playing it too loud or if i hold the power window switches "up" too long. Here lately, it has been not even turning on at all when i start the Jeep. It only happens when i play a cd. it'll say "reading disk". I know its not a scratched cd, cause i just bought a couple new ones yesterday and it does it to those too. I'm thinking a new non-factory radio might fix that, but would rather not have to spend the money just yet.

My 2010 has done similar and it is so sporadic I just haven't let it bother me to the degree that I'd backfit. What year and can you address through warranty?

It's a 2007. warranty is out. which is why i was just thinking of getting a new head unit. But i like to take the doors off and leave the top off, which is why i want to keep it looking as stock as possible so people don't jack with it.

I bought an aftermarket nav unit with a detachable face. Kill two birds with one stone.
