Stock rims with 35s?

I'm going to start out by saying I have the Rancho 4" Trail lift kit on my jeep with stock rims and tires. My goal is to get a new set of rims and buy Trail Grappler M/T tires. Does anyone know if stock rims will work with 35" tires?. My issue is I think my jeep looks horrible lifted with the tires but for the rims and tires I want are 25 hundred dollars which isn't happening anytime soon. But the Wheels themselves I can buy for around 900.

I'm about to install 35x12.5x17" Toyo Open Country MTs on my 2013 Rubicon and keep the stock wheels. I was told that it wasn't recommended but could be done by the off road shop doing the work. I needed to add 1.75" wheel spacers because of the backspacing of the stock wheels. They say the min width for 35x12.5 should be 8.5" wide rims. The stock rubicon wheels are 7.5"

Long story short, Not recommended, but doable.

Like ping said, the biggest problem is the backspacing. With spacers you can do it. The rim is a little skinny but it shouldn't cause too much of a problem

I agree, it's not recommended but it is doable. Maybe you could luck up & find a nice used wheel/tire set that might have 60 or 70 percent tread. May not get exactly what you want going this route though.

I saw a JKU at the mall the other day with the stock wheels and 35 x 12.5's. They bulged a little bit but it still looked pretty cool.

Well this makes me feel better. I'm probably going to take the plunge buy the 1.75 spacers and wait a year and buy some new rims and another set of wheels.

I am thinking of going with 315.70.17 Goodyear MT Kevlars instead of 35's as recommended by discount tire. Is their a big difference between these and the 35's I know it maths out to .64" shorter they will not mount and balance 35's on the Rubicon stock rims. I love the Rubicon Wheels!! What is the actual height of these tires the 315's and the 35's? Is there a website I can go to?
