Stock Rubicon MPG

What kind of MPG are people getting in city/highway for a stock rubicon JK with 32" BFG mud terrain tires and manual tranny? No other mods.

I'm getting 15 mpg with my 2010, 2 door. I heard that it'll get a lil better as the jeep breaks in.

This is probably an obvious question but the BFG mud terrains that come stock on the Rubi, do they get the worst gas mileage out of say...

street tires, all terrain tires, mud tires?

I'd say that they don't offer as much friction as an aggressive mud tire. Check out the tire pattern. The spaces between tread are not too large and they overlap. The overlap I think minimizes road noise. Still get some noise but not too bad. The trade-off is of course traction off road. Still, not a bad tire over all. I think the lower gearing of the Rubi is what reduces the mpg on the highway. I had an 08 Sahara Unlimited and got 20 to 21 on the highway and it had 3.73 gears. The Rubi gets about 19 on the highway pretty much what is on the sticker for economy.

With my 10 I had a high of 21 highway & 18 city. I mostly get 19.5 highway & 17 city doing the math and not using the computer.

I'm averaging around 18 with my 2010 6-speed 2-door stock Rubi. 4200 miles on my Jeep so far. I don't have much highway driving, but a 40 mile round trip commute. I'm okay with averaging 18 mpg. not great, but not bad either.

I'm getting 20+ on the highway and over 16 around town in my 09 Rubicon Unlimited, auto. This is with stock 255 M/T's. The mileage has improved after I hit the 10k mile mark.
When I put the M/T 285's on, my mileage drops about 2 mpg overall!

My 09 Sahara 2dr with the stock 18's bridestone duelers gets over 23 mph. I do think the type of tire make a considerable difference. I will be leaving the 285's on the Rubi and putting the 255 M/T's on the Sahara. I definitely plan to check the gas mileage and expect it to drop. Didn't buy the Wrangler's for mileage but it stays interesting!

I average 17 mpg in my 2008 2-door jk.

That's about 3 mpg better than what I average in my DD (2010 Jeep SRT8) haha
