Recently for some reason I have had drivers talk to me at stop lights about my JKUR and I get particularly tickled at the conversations, so I thought I would share.

Jeep Renegade Driver: (motions to roll down window) Hey have you had any leaking problems with your top?
Me: Nope not at all.
JRD: Do you take the top off.
Me: Yep no leaks.
JRD: This thing leaks.
Me: *shrug* (internally: Should have gotten a Wrangler)

----

Giant SUV Driver: Excuse me.
Me: (turns radio off): Yes
GSD: Do those come in V6?
Me: V6 is standard!
GSD: I always wanted one of those
Me: Me too! (drives away smiling)

---

Jeep Compass Driver: Hey
Me: (turns off music: Yes
JCD: Do you want to trade trucks?!
Me: No!
JCD: I have a Jeep too
Me: Well kinda
JCD: (laughing) You not right
Me: (laughing) You know what you chose when you bought it.
JCD: You're right. I know (makes sad face)

Anyone else have some equally amusing stop light convos?

F250: Laughs- What kinda gas milage you gettin
Me: prolly same as you - smiles

Until I buy mine, I keep taking photos of parked ones... Got caught the other day when I got out work and there was one parked closed to where I was... took a few photos and the owner stopped by.

Me - "Great looking Jeep"
Owner - "Thank you"
Me - "I want one badly"
Owner - "I love mine, but all these mods get expensive quickly"
Me - "Yeah, I know, I have been making a spreadsheet with everything that I want...still, I want one badly! Have fun with yours"
Owner -"Thank you, I am!"

Heck, I even take photos of Jeep parts when I go to the dealer for the Fiat oil changes... sickness indeed

I get a thumbs up every so often, only one conversation though.

Red JK, lifted, with a congo cage-type roof rack and upgraded exhaust. Told me my Jeep had too many doors, we laughed about it and complimented each other's rigs and went our separate ways.

I think I have about one conversation a week during the summer. Things like:

Them: Can I trade? (Dodge Ram) Me: Hahaha, nope.

Them: What shocks are those?

Them: How much did you pay? Me: When I bought it, or now that it looks like this?

Them: Nice Jeep, what's your gas mileage? Me: about 15-18 Them: Wow! I get 7 (Big SUV with like a 10" lift lol)

Them: How's the maintenance on that? Me: Well, it seems like I spend money on it every weekend, but I haven't had any warranty claims yet!

Only one stop light conversation I can think of and it happened shortly after I bought my Jeep last year. A guy pulled up next to me, rolled down his window and said "damn that's a nice looking blue".

At a gas station a week or so ago a guy close to my age (mid to late 20s) came over and said "excuse me sir, I just wanted to say that's an awesome Jeep".

At Lowe's a couple days ago we had a couple tell us how much they liked it and ask about my grille and where I had it wrapped (grayscale American flag).

One guy complementing me on how good it looked at a red light first day with the top off. and about my "sweet rims" (they were the stock sahara 18s. Lol)
Also get gas station complements all the time telling me how good it looks. Usually draws attention when its naked more than any other time.

I did have a funny convo with the security force guy at the base when i drove in one cold day with the top off.

Him: you're not cold?
Me: nah. I like it.
Him: That ain't right.
Me: I've got a jacket on.
Him: *makes a funny face that says he thinks I'm nuts
Me: as i dive off smiling "have a good day"

Had a guy in a mustang (with no hood) pull up beside me and offer to trade
(Mustang) wanna trade?
(Me) No
(Mustang) wanna race for titles?
(Me) sure if I get to pick the course

He then took off like a lunatic when the light turned green.

im 35 and a few weeks ago had a nice older lady in her 70's tell me that my jeep was nice and if she was 30 years younger shed be asking for a ride in it. I told her to jump on up and we could go now!

I live in a town with a lot of older people and a decent population of very wealthy people. An older, very well dressed gentleman came over to me at a gas station and complimented the jeep, asked about it, asked about the red tow hooks (Hard Rock), the bumpers, the mileage, the transmission, and said he's in the market for a new one. I asked what he's looking to replace...he laughed and pointed at the front of the gas station at the mid-70s CJ...he's adding to the stables, not replacing.

Pulling into a gravel road that leads to a Chattahoochee River boat launch, a little before dusk. There's another Anvil 2-door (Rubicon) sitting on the side of the road, opposite direction. I slow down, he rolls down window (I had mine down already.)

Rubi: That's a nice Anvil Jeep ya got there.
Willie: Meh... the place is lousy with 'em now. Apparently they'll sell 'em to anybody.
Rubi: I had to submit a request to purchase Anvil and wait 3 months for the background check.
Willie: Yeah, they used to be more selective about who they'd sell Anvil to.
Rubi: You got a real Warn winch, not a Smittybilt.
Willie: Ha, good eye. I've had both, wouldn't mind either.

I was in Johns Creek this past weekend. Kept an eye out for your Jeep but I didn't see you. Of course I drove in at 5:00 PM Sat to turnaround and leave at 5:00 AM Sunday to head back to Dallas.

Last week I had a passenger of the car next to me tell me he liked my Jeep, he also said he liked the tires. They are stock Rubi rims and tires. He also ask me what the rig cost, if I liked it, if was fun to drive etc. We talked until the light turned and traffic started moving.

I have also had people in cars ask if it was lifted.

Today I had another JKU point at my Jeep and tell me she liked it I pointed back at hers and said I like that!

I also had a roadside worker give me the Jeep wave as I passed, I wonder if he owns a Jeep.

Don't know if I've shared this story or not - Got to a stop light and a 90's Honda Accord pulls up beside me. I'm running w/o 4 doors. I'm in WA and we now get some folks from out of state coming by to our local, family-run marijuana shop. Reminiscent of a Cheech and Chong movie, this mid-twenties guy looks over me, at the back seat, then back at me and says, "Dude, what happened to your doors?" I replied, "Can you believe some ass**** stole them at the pot store." The guy starts yelling at his friends in the back seats, "Make sure you guys lock the doors when we get there, see what happened to this guy!" I shook my head as they turned down the street, smoke rolling out the window...

Haha. I did have someone at a Wendy's drive through legitimately ask me "Do the doors come with it?" Referring to my doorless 2dr. I honestly had to resist the urge to ask him if he'd ever seen a jeep wrangler before.

Although I shouldn't be surprised. At the very same place I had an elderly lady me ask me in the parking lot if this establishment served good food. We are still refering to a Wendy's, btw. I didn't know what to say so I just said I liked the baconator. Haha.

I have had a handful of conversations at red lights the last few weeks while riding around the neighborhood with my Aries tube doors on. One was another JKU owner with the doors off telling me that he had to get some tube doors now. The other ones seem to be people confused as to what the tube doors are. One guy asked if I own the original doors also and another guy asked if the jeep was new and when I said that it was, he said he never saw a jeep made like that before. I explained that they don't make them that way as the doors come off easy and you can mod it many ways.

Today I did not have a convo...

Me (left turn lane waiting) *My spidey sense is tingling* (Looks to the right)
Guy In SUV (staring longingly at Jeep): *smiles* *nods* *gives thumbs up*
Me: *laughs* *nods back* *returns thumbs up*

Great way to start the morning!! :D

Yep get conversations at stoplights all the time when my jeep's naked. One that really sticks out in my head though happened right after I got it before I had done any mods. Was a nice sunny day and rollin' with the top down/ doors off when I guy started a convo with me...the usual stuff but at the end he asked why I would choose a wrangler over other jeep models. I looked at him dumbfounded while basking in the sun and as the light turned green, sped off yelling "I hate doors!"

IH8DORS...would make a great license plate!

I had a girl motion to me in traffic the other day and I had to reach over and roll down the window since I don't have power windows and she kept asking what that thing was and pointing at my Jeep. It took me a minute to realize she was pointing at my snorkel. I had to quickly explain it to her and she looked bewildered and amazed. It was pretty funny.

x2! It does get annoying sometimes. I have had numerous pics taken of me driving around..parents coming up and asking if their kids can take a pic with the jeep, as well as being stopped everywhere I go by people asking tons of questions and just overwhelmed by my jeep. Sometimes you just want to get in and out of the store....not sit there and bullshit about your jeep for half an hour. The one thing I still enjoy though is knowing what a bad ass ride I built!
