Strange Alarm Problems

OK I must have pushed one too many buttons - I have a Viper 5002 alarm system, with a Field Disturbance Sensor and a Python 489P 2 way remote.

Lately, the alarm on the drivers side door, once the door is opened, only gives 5 warn away chirps and not the full siren. All the other doors work as designed. What is that? Also, the rmote used to let me know when the system had been triggered (it's a 2 way) - now nothing.

I figure someone out there must have a 2 way alarm system and had seen this before - I'm stumped and been searching the net to no avail.

Alarms are useless and annoying for the owner and everyone else. I don't even look towards the sound anymore.. I just sigh and wish it would stop. I just keep everything locked up. I hope you get it figured out though. Electronics drive me crazy with problems like that.

Not really the help I'm looking for - I live in a heavily populated city, not known for it's affluence with a Jeep containing 10k worth of work that's parked downtown overnight, every night. "locking" things up means broken windows, sliced windows and other assorted damage by the local methhead trying to steal the change out of your console via your 400 dollar side window. Locking up is also not an option with a "bikini" top and no doors which are generally left off most of the year until the snow flies. Not to mention the rather generous 20% off on my insurance.

When that alarm goes off, it pages me - so I know it's not a nuisance. I adjusted it myself to avoid alarms like that - it also kills my starter, so it DOES have a use beyond hurting your ears.

I am stuck on this issue because every zone BUT the drivers side door, triggers the alarm and notification. All I get from the drivers side door is a series of warn away beeps and then silence. Because of this, some meatsack opened my door, waited for the warn away beeps to stop (5 chirps), and then helped him or herself to my center console where they took and I kid you not 1) 5 dollars in change in a crowne royal bag 2) a 3 dollar umbrella 3) a 1/2" socket and 4) the socket for my locking lugs (needless to say they were replaced the next morning)

SO in a nutshell why is the drivers side door only giving the warning chirps but not a full on activation and b) why isn't it notifying me on the remote - I'd reset the remote to factory default settings (thinking I may have disabled two way paging somehow) but damned if that information is available anywhere online (and I look fruitlessly)
