Stubby or Full width front bumper?

So im decided whether i should go with a stubby or full width. If i get a stubby i will be getting poison spyder fenders but if i get a full width i will be cutting stock fenders like jaker_jk did. I do little rock krawling but i love the look of the stubby so leave your feedback. This is also my DD.

Here are my choices:

JcrOffroad, Inc. Mauler Stubby Front Winch Bumper - JK Wrangler
JcrOffroad, Inc. Vanguard Full Width Front Winch Bumper - JK Wrangler
JcrOffroad, Inc. Dagger Stubby Front Pre-Runner Winch Bumper - JK Wrangler

I know I won't be the only one to say it's all personal preference, but that's what it is. If you really like the look of the stubby, you'll regret buying something else.

I really like JCR's Dagger Stubby and nearly bought that one when I was looking for a bumper.

Reason to buy a stubby:

Like the looks
Take big boy trails
Need to drop weight

Reason to buy a full size:

Like the looks
It's required by law in your state

This. And another thing to consider if it's your DD. Full will give you better protection in a frontal crash and will protect the front sides of the jeep, where obviously the stubby won't.

And you can put your fog lights on most full widths

It's a smitty built front atlas bumper.

Some people don't like smitty built but I really like it. It's pretty beefy and solid. No problems having it mounted

I would personally get something that mounts the winch lower and between the frame rails. I would get the Mauler Stubby bumper out of those three.

With that said, I just ordered the Offroad Evolution 1/4 pounder with the stinger. The welds on it look like a piece of art.

Depends on what you like. I got the jcr vanguard and love it. I am not a fan of the stubby
I also wont be rock crawling either.

Well I put the lift kit first before I put the bumper but if I had to guess it be about 1/2" to an 1". That's with the winch installed though

Another thing to consider. Around here some trails get real thin, do you want your bumper to be the leading edge or do you want your fender to lead.

I had stubby, got into a front end accident. Front wheel took all the force which bent everything upfront. After that Replacement bumpers from now on will be full widths on all our Jeeps.
