Stubby REAR bumper???

I'm going to get the bumper caps to make my stock bumper a stubby. What about the rear bumper? What have y'all done to the stock rear bumper to make it stubby as well? Are there bumper cap kits for the rear? I can't seem to find anything. Custom mod?

interesting idea never saw a stubby rear kit though i dont think there is one other then just cutting it.

i suppose you could make your own by cutting the bumper to desired size and using the tips from where you cut off and just imitate the model from the front kit

Agree.

I was thinking of that myself.

But... The rear bumper ends serve a purpose where the fronts don't.

Cut off the rear ends you will be throwing dirt/rocks/whatever plastering vehicles behind you.

Could be wrong here but it's what I came up with

Where do the flaps attach to though.

Ends of the bumper?

Just looked at my rear end

Anyways... Ya, the bumper comes within 1/2 from the flare and the space is closed off from part of the inner wheel well.
If you were to lop it off you would also have to cut into the wheel well. Wouldn't look to good IMO.

Then again- I'm wondering what happens when you install an aftermarket bumper ?

Stubby in the rear might work.

Look like its cut away or removed in this pic.

As far as the front, your basically just cutting off the plastic/rubber ends.

Haven't really looked at the inner construction of the rear-to see if it's possible.

Sure if it was, we would see a stubby rear kit

There are detachable mud flaps that attach to the frame.

I did the stock front stubby, and saved the peices I cut off to possibly to the rear also. My main reason is that I made flat fenders from the stock fenders, and when you cut the rear fenders the rear bumper is no longer flush with the fender and it looks dumb.

I was just going to try to fab something for it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
