I'm doing the PRS+ upgrade to my 2009 JKU. The sub amp arrives today, so I'm trying to figure out if I should wire it with the RCA outputs from my Pioneer HU or just do as most here seem to be doing... wiring the high level speaker outputs to the amp.
Personally, I think the RCA route is the best and I have everything I need to do this. I just wonder if matching volume control would be problematic when using the RCA option versus high level option. I think the Pioneer HU allows some special controls for the sub when hooked up via RCA which are not available if going the high level connection route.
Also, by not having anything connected to the speaker outputs from the stock Infinity amp, will this cause a problem? Will the stock amp act as if nothing has changed or will it add additional power to the other speakers still connected to it?
Equipment list:
Pioneer AVH-X2800BS headunit
Sounstream PN2.350D sub amp
Pioneer TSSW2002D2 sub
Stock Infinity amp
Stock Infinity front tweeters (with cap mod)
Stock Infinity front mids
Rockford Fosgate R165X3 soundbar speakers
