Suggestions for 1st mod.

I just got a stock 2010 Wrangler Unlimited. My wife just asked what I wanted for my Jeep for my birthday. I'm a newb so any suggestions for a first addition would be appreciated!

But a picture or what you have already will help

What are your goals for the jeep? Kids? Dogs? What do you do on Weekends?

Know you asked about first mod but there is plenty to get before the first mod:

First Aid kit
Fire extinguisher

GPS-phones don't always have connectivity
Spiderwebshade- if you like to run with the top down/off
Cargo netting-Safari Straps- Indpendently owned, made in the USA, good stuff
CB- most run the cobra 75, small compact, easy to stow when done.
Tools and something to hold fluids such as oil, power steering fluid, anti-freeze
Tow strap
AIR COMPRESSOR-at first get a small one, Wal-mart, Viar, once you decide what you want to do with your tires, then on board air of some kind you don't want to be filling 35's with a plug in compressor, trust me, it sucks.
Flashlights AND HEADLAMPS be glad you had em both-extra batteries for each
Hi lift jack and jack pad- Yes even though your are stock. The stock jeep jack will NOT be of any use off road.

If you have all that, then rock rails would be the recommendation for first mod. Which ones depends on your use, look you are going for, and of course your budget.

Get LED Headlights - you will love your jeep lots more at night. And it really is a big safety item.

Good list by DaK...but thats stuff you should have anyway, lol.

My first Mod was a set of ACE Sliders. Works as a step for the wife and I don't have to worry about someone opening their door into the side of my new Jeep!

Be safe, have fun!

As you are aware the stock lights on the JK just plain SUCK.

I am a big fan of having your first mod be a one off custom job fab'ed by yourself. Great way to learn the in's and out's of your jeep.

Maybe build your own CB antenna mount and plasti dip it.

I'm thinking about a leveling kit so it sits a little higher & I can get some bigger tires when it comes time for new ones. Does a leveling kit diminish ride quality much?

If you are going to be buying all of this stuff, check out Ebates. If you log on to Ebates and then go to Advance Auto, it not only gives you all of the current coupon codes, but it also gives you 5% cash back on everything you buy. It has saved me a ton of money. I just replaced my radiator and got $40 bucks off the top and $10 cash back!! You can buy online and then pick up in the store the same day. Just click the link and you're on your way.
