HI All , Newbie here .
So i decided to upgrade the speakers on my 2012 jk Soundbar .

So far i have padded the inside with dynamat and filled the empty space with polyfill and finally installed some Polk 6.5 (db651 ) . For some odd reason i
I cant hear much of a difference from the stock speakers . Could it be i over filled the soundbar ?

The system is running off the mygig RBZ .

Any suggestions on what i could have done wrong ?

Thank you in advance....

You've done nothing wrong. The issue is that the RBZ radio just doesn't have enough power to make your new speakers sound good. They'll sound slightly better than stock, but not much. If you can add an amp to your setup, you'll be much happier.

First, let me say I am by no means a sound system expert. I also upgraded my stock stereo by adding dynamat and poly fill, as well as performing these two mods:

First off, you should loosely fill the sound bar with poly fill, not pack it at all. All you want is some fill in there to absorb the sound waves bouncing around behind the speaker.

Another issue may be the replacement speakers you went with; the Polk's are 4 ohm speakers. If you read through the first thread above, the recommended Infinity speakers are 2 ohm speakers. After I did all the mods my system sounds much better than stock - not just a little louder, but also a much cleaner, more precise sound.

I hope this information is helpful.

You actually don't want to hear the rear speakers when setup properly. The sound stage should be setup in front of you. The rear speakers will provide fill and fullness to the music. My rear speakers play at half the volume level or the front speakers and my sound stage is pretty right at the radio.
