Question Sunrider back windows

How goes it,

I have a 2008 2 door sahara with the sunrider top. For some reason my side window keeps popping out of my driver door when im driving down the road. This happens even when top is completely closed and windows are all in. If I have my windows open it happens even quicker because of the suction. Anyone have any clue how to correct this?? I know on other styles of jeeps the window actually tucks into the door where with the sunrider top it just kind of sits in there. When I put the window in I zip it all the way up then push up on it while I velcro it (the top is where it pops out at) then tuck the bottom in. Am I doing this incorrectly? This really is annoying the crap out of me. Why the heck do they put such cheap crap on a $26,000 vehicle I'll never understand haha.

Thanks for the help and the time,

Kyle

Do you have the top inserted correctly into the door surrounds? Post a pic of the area behind the door.

No, the sunrider top "tucks into" the door surrounds. The leading edge (facing the windshield) should be folded like the letter "U" so that the flat bottom of that "U" is facing forward and the inside edge is tucked in the "C" channel of the door surround.

No, they tuck into the channel on the surrounds. Roll it into the surround so that only the last row of stitching on the window is visible. This is easiest to accomplish if you start just a couple of inches of the zipper, then tuck into the surround, then zip, and tuck into the tub rail and velcro.

Am I doing this incorrectly?Yes, see above.

Many of us had similar issues. Don't blame the Jeep
Thanks for the help and the time,

Kyle

This is a very common question. Here's my answer from another thread.

I had the same problem back in the day, and this thread explains how to do it properly.

In short:

1) use Velcro to loosely hold window in place.
2) zip only about 4 inches of zipper.
3) fold the solid strip of the door-side of the window 180 degrees into the channel in the black plastic "door surround" that abuts the door when the window is out. The strip will literally have been folded over such that it wraps around the door surround.
4) zip the rest of the window.
5) pop in the lower edging of the window into the channel along the upper edge of the jeep. This is very much like what was done in step 3.
6) fix the Velcro.
7) admire own handiwork.

Window will be very tight. Nothing flaps in the breeze.

That'll do it.

I also give a good tug from a flap opposite of the window channel- before I velcro.
