Superchip flashpaq for Christmas?

Merry Christmas everyone. I have $ for Christmas. I am interested in the superchip flashpaq. Is there any performance improvement for a manual trans? All the posts talk about improvement for auto trans.

Are there any programing options to improve performance and/or milage? I'm aware that there aren't any huge gains to be noticed.

Either a V8 or diesel is it in the performance area unless you charge the motor.

Speed it in tires, lift, axles, or lockers.

Instead of Ho, Ho, Ho......Santa would be saying No, No, No. I heard the same things that reflashing is useless for vehicles with a manual transmission. Not just Jeeps either. Save the cash or spend it elsewhere more wisely. Happy Holidays.

That's one of many benefits of having a manual trans. you control the shift points. Due to the fact that you're driving a Jeep I don't have any complaints regarding the power you're getting because of the 6spd. As was said, spend the $ on something else.

Doesn't the flashpaq do other things beside adjust shift points? I thought it could adjust the timing?

The sight says that it adds horse power, but isn't specific to how. You can calibrate your speedo, get codes, and clear codes. Also it says something about raising idle for using winch, and one click running lights. It may or may not add performance that seems debatable, but it seems like it has other benefits.

The "timing" that you're refering to is the timing of the shift points. And indeed, I don't think I've ever seen somebody on this forum with an auto transmission that DIDN'T like their superchip. With a manual though, you do that yourself . . . manually.

As I understand it, you can get most of the "non-shift point adjusting" benefits from something less expensive, like an AEV ProCal. I think they're about half the price and--other than adjusting shift points--they do most (if not all) of the same stuff.

I just off the phone with them and they sort of &%$ me off. One thing is they said that the Flashpag on the Wrangler will not adjust shift points out of the box like they offer with other vehicles. They do offer a $40 upgrade to allow transmission tuning but he said if you did not know exactly what your doing that you shouldn't because the program was so complex that you could mess up your transmission. Also their site at certain locations didn't list the 2010 models so I wanted to verify before purchasing and since I waited to verify since they have been closed since 12/23 the $25.00 rebate was over so I had to pay full price. They were the ones causing confusion. They sound so unprofessional IMO. To add the shift adjusting and shipping it will cost now around $400.00
