Can someone, anyone who actually has the Superchips Flashpaq (3872) 2013 JKUR running 87 octane as a daily driver and offroad enthusiast with a performance exhaust, let us know what REAL improvements/feedback are felt? With the few treads out there, comments are not really helpful.

Things that matter in your response:
* MPG change +/- with off road tires setup (eg, M/T tires).
* Actual acceleration numbers without messing with the throttle pedal.
* If there is any change felt on the 5 Speed Automatic Transmission (W5A580) (eg, shift points, smoothness or firmness of shifts, +/- change in powerband in any of the 5 gears (if so what gear, what RPM).

Thanks in advance :happyyes:

This may not be the scientific comparison you want but I hope it helps.

I was sold on the this programmer with the 3.8 but did not buy it for my 3.6 after driving a relatives JK. He is running 33s vs my 32s at the time and after driving his for a weekend the only difference I noticed was a little less throttle lag (which is not nearly as bad on the stock 3.6 as it was on the 3.8) and slightly crisper shifting. I did not drive the JK aggressively or go off road. I can't comment on mileage because his JK has always gotten better mileage than mine.

I just ran through the 1st tank of gas (87) on my 2012 JKU.

Best $300 performance investment ever on my JK, thus far. No more throttle lag. Instant response from a dead stop. Acceleration is definitely improved. I can't believe that this is the performance off a simple 87 Octane tune.
I just put in 93 Octane this afternoon and updated the tune accordingly. I'm about to leave work to go home so I'll find out what that difference is going to be. I've heard as much as a 30/30 gain in HP and TQ. Personally I call BS but will be happy to be proven wrong. I'll see soon enough!

Would I get it again if I had another JK? Hell to the yeah.

I would not use this if you have a 3.6L with an auto. This happened to me.

The dealer spent two weeks installing new PCM, Transmission, Reflash, twice completely went through the ECM, PCM and all the transmission modules.

I read that it (FlashPac) does not change anything in the PCM. That is not true. It screwed mine up so bad it took a total replace. All new parts. Replaced.

SuperCRAP! Did not want to give me any money for any of the repairs.
And down time.

They did not “feel” Responsible. Even though everything worked fine until I plugged in the programmer. Easy to say to me you can’t prove it was us who did that. When in fact it has happened to many others the same way.

SuperCrap did send me my PCM and "told me it was good" another BS line from them. If it was "good" then why did they try to have me update it right after I got it from them??????? More BS from Superchip.

I can tell you why. Because it wasn't any good and they knew it, they were using me as a "test" they wanted my PCM program to further there sales. Which I consider that “STEALING” from them. All that just to say "we have a working" 2014 JK programmer when in the end they did not and to this day do not have a working program. Its your vehicle you can do what you think best as for me I would stay away.

Thanks But SuperCrap did not stand behind there product. Good to here that what they stoled from me worked for you.

In my auto 2014, I didn't notice any huge change in mileage but admittedly I never really checked that. I changed my radio on time when key out before door is opened, my tpms was changed and I did the 87 octane tune which It did feel different as it did get rid of the throttle lag and seemed to drive smoother not really any "faster" although I never raced anyone before or after lol. There was no change to the automatic shift points etc at all.

It always sad to hear when a fellow Jeep owner has this type of issues but it just shows how aftermarket vendors struggle with PCM/ECU integration because Jeep does't provide sufficient support.

It is also understandable why Jeep operates this way. The PCM/ECU is the brain of the vehicle which becomes more complex each year as more systems are under its control and monitoring.

I'm sorry to hear a fellow Jeep owner has had an issue with this product.

This is just my .02, but this product, for me anyway, wasn't just snake oil. I've always had 4 wheels drives, but I kept them stock. I love to play, but I never could really afford to throw that kind of money at this stuff. So I got divorced, wrecked my truck and went out and bought a 2012 JKU Sahara and had it lifted 3" and added 33" tires. Only to find out now that my very expensive Jeep drove like crap on the highway. Always downshifting at highway speeds.

Then I learned about final drive ratios and that Chrysler in all it's wisdom to throw 3.21 gears in a Jeep of all vehicles. I even learned that the salesman lied when I asked him about the towing capacity. I didn't have another $2,000 or so to throw at regearing the final gears. So I was depressed. Plus, with the warranty issues I was having with the cooling system and the engine, I was/am afraid to screw up what's left on my warranty.

Then I was talking to someone and they asked if I had the speedo re-calibrated because the ECM uses speed in it's calculation to determine shift points. That was a Duh moment for me. And then I read where the Superchips 87 Octane fuel map gave the 3.6 a little more HP and that people were having success on the highways without over shifting.

I drove my Jeep like that for a little over a year.

All I have to say is this thing gave me my Jeep back. Am I drag racing? Not quite, but it's once again a pleasure to drive. It's no longer constantly downshifting and it's a lot more peppier. I have to take my Jeep to the dealer for the recall thing, so I have to flash it back to stock, but after that, I am going to play around with the Auto Transmission pressure.

This product shouldn't be aftermarket, it should be a standard Jeep feature.

Just installed mine...

Hi, I just installed mine.
First my rig: 2012 JK Unlimitted automatic
My mods (mecanic): Airaid CAI and Dynomax VT exhaust
My tires: 275 65 16 Grabber AT2

I'm a daily driver, city with hiway on weekends and I do some wheeling now and then.

I installed the X mileage tune realy easy to install (filled my Jeep with premium gas, 91 octane), it is the 87 octane but with faster upshifts to keep the revs low. I was told that by a Superchips technician by email.

So far... I love it..best investment. There's no more throttle lag (I'm on the Superchips level)

Shifting is much smooter. I can feel more power, but it is jus a placebo effect or the tune with the CAI and exhaust all together ?
Anyway, Much faster from a death stop for sure and I can hear my CAI and Exhaust a lot more... eh eh !

On hiway, driving at 65 mph, there's about 150 less rpm revs.

I'M going on a 700 miles trip on friday, I'll tell you more about MPG. I'll also tow a tent trailer on my way back so I'm gonna be able to tell you more for sure.

But so far... I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO FOR IT !!!!

I've had mine for about a month. I just switched to tow mode (91 oct required). Superchips throttle mod, fan speed changed, tpms changed (awesome!), and recently updated software. So far so good, actually greatly improved.

When I first installed my mileage went up nearly 4mpg. It's too much fun to drive so the mileage is back down. If I actively pay attention on the freeway I can get 16 mpg with 35s. That is better than the 11 mpg with the stock tune. I'd like more control over the throttle settings, shift points and the rev limiter but for the money it is well worth the investment.

Courious as to what gears you have. I get 16 on the freeway now with 35"s with no tune.

#16 ·
Sorbs Avitar shows a rubicon so I'm sure it 4.66..

Sorbs, was it "tow mode" 91 octane that you saw the 4mpg increase?

You mean 4.10 gears. There is no 4.66. But I always ask because gears are a common upgrade.

I have the FlashCal, I am considering doing the $179 upgrade to convert it to a FlashPaq essentially.

Let me know if you do this and how it works out. I am thinking of updating my flashcal to the flashpaq if it works with the A580 automatic transmission and gear change.

I have the FlashCal 3570 and it worked fine adjusting my tire height and minor shit, but it does not work with the 2012+ Auto transmissions and gear change. The a580 auto tranny is a bitch and it took several companies quite a long time to come up with a program that would work with a gear change on the 2012+ Autos. How do I know? My jeep is sitting in my driveway waiting for me to find a new programmer that works with the A580 tranny and a gear change. Sure, I can reset it and drive it around the block until it kicks into limp mode, and drive it around in limp mode just fine in town... but that sucks.

I went ahead and regeared thinking the superchips would have provided an update that would have handled this, but when I updated my superchips it did not help. I noticed last night when I plug my flashcal in it says "version" is March 2011. Wondering if any newer versions were updated to work with the TCM on the 2012 Auto Transmission... Or if I update it to the flashpaq if it will work with the TCM and new gears.

Here is a nice little article I found a while ago.

http://www.motorcitymusclecars.com/...2-jeep-wrangler-causes-it-to-enter-limp-mode/

Anyone have any suggestions on a programmer that works with a 2012 Auto Transmission TCM for gear change?

I have the 3870 on my 2013 Sport S, 3.73's, Banks intake, Gibson dual exhaust, RE 2.5" coil lift and 35" Kuhmo MT's on Helo wheels. I have the TPMS turned off, fog lights on with the brights, stock throttle response, running the 87 octane tune. Four tanks of gas after the lift and wheels/tires went on and I am averaging 20-21 mpg. I did notice with the tuner/intake/exhaust an increase in power and it turns the 35's rather easily. This tuner is a really nice unit and I am extremely happy with the overall performance. I will try the 91 octane tune this weekend, after I tow the boat up north.

Just FYI for those people with 2012+ JKs and Auto transmissions and using the flashcal, you might have to call superchips and have them code an update specifically for your tuner. I called yesterday and spoke to the tech and engineer and they both said 2012-2014 JKs are being tough but their newest codes are working. Mine is good to go now after updating my programmer, again, after talking with superchips.

Ive got the 3872 myself, 2014 JKURX with auto and 4:10's. So far I have only used it to alter tire size but had not problems with it recognizing vehicle etc.

With the above in mind I have 2 recommendations:

1) ALWAYS update the tuner just prior to using it.
2) turn off all anti-virus software prior to doing the update.

Superchips 3782

I just installed the superchips 3782 in my 08 jk today the only issue I had was trying to update it out of the box. So I called sc and there is an issue with the new windows update and that they were working on it, So the tech told me to try to connect it to to my jk so I did and it worked... didn't need to hook it up to the computer! So I did the 87 tune and I was impressed with the way the throttle response was as well as the shifting......Mucho gooder! By no means is it a race car but I'm enjoying the new throttle feel and shifting! I will post the mph gains if any! Oh and got to update my tire size to 33's. Other than that one issue I'm happy with the purchase. Just a heads up I did some shopping around and found them to be between $305.00 and $500.00! I found them at autopartsway.com for $280.00 and my local 4 wheel parts store in fresno priced matched them!

Looking to purchase the Flashpaq for my 2013 JKUR with automatic. Do any of you experience any of the TPMS light on issues? I can't find a forum on superchips website to see if there are any current issues with their tunes. I got burned by DiabloSports T1000 on my 2013 JCGO with the ABS light issue when changing the tire size and just nervous...

Thanks!
