Lately I have been noticing my suspension jumping. The best way to describe it is when I go over a bumpy patch in the road, it feels like my wheels are jumping up and down off the ground. The other day I was turning a corner that had some torn up spots. It felt like I was driving on ice. My wheels started to jump and my Jeep was sliding like the wheels had no grip. When I turned my wheel the Jeep would skip. Almost like the wheels would touch the ground for grip then hit a bump and jump up and not touch so I wouldn't have grip anymore then touch the road again and so on.
I know a Jeep will feel different than a car but this doesn't feel right. I shouldn't feel it skidding like on ice when turning a corner.
Is my suspension shot? I haven't taken it off road yet and I barely drive it (8k miles a year).
Shocks seem to be ok from the quick test I did. Stood on the bumper and jumped off. It bounced back up to normal position and didn't do much after that. It was very easy for me to push down on the corner and rock it back and forth but I assume that is more from the high center of gravity.
Also when I go over bumps I can hear a rattle coming from the front. Could the bolts be loose that cause DW?
Got my wheels rebalanced. The two passanger side ones need to be fixed. I haven't driven much since I got it done but I haven't felt the jumpiness nearly as much as before. Hopefully this fixed the issue.
