Swapping out rear bumper just to compensate for a heavy spare

I'm a 1st time jeep owner & couldn't be happier! ...... BUT I just can't get past my heavy 35" Nitto Trail Grappler spare hanging off my tailgate. Problem I'm having, though is, is it logical to replace a factory rear bumper for the sole purpose of carrying a heavier spare? It just seems a little over-the-top but I really want it off my tailgate. Would the Teraflex hinge-mount carrier be more than adequate enough for my situation? I kinda like it but unsure if it solves the problem of taking the weight off my tailgate. What do you all think?

I hope you have something other than the stock tire carrier or you will be replacing more than the bumper.

A Smittybilt adapter was added to the factory carrier. It basically just throws the spare up higher & out from the Jeep further to clear the bumper ... prolly creating even more stress on the gate.

X2 if you do not want to replace the bumper get the teraflex tire carrier before you have to swap out your tailgate.

AEV makes a HD tire carrier that mounts thru the bumper and directly to the frame. There is no load on the bumper.

With a TF Carrier, you can get rid of the whole bumper if want.
