Switching controls on the steering wheel.

Ok, he's my rant. Ive never figured out why american car companies want to alway put the volume control on the right (7 inches from the real volume) and the channel changer on the left. Now, most people change the volume way more than they change the channel while driving. They also rest there left arm on the door and the wheel leaving the right to "wonder" around. This has alwas got on my nerves because I would rather have the volume control on the left. So, question is? Is there a way, or has it been done, to switch the functions so I can have volume control on the left side where I always have my hand at anyways? End rant.....

You could probably just switch the wires. I'm sure your local stereo shop could take a look if you're not up to doing it (I know I wouldn't)
