tail lights and hard top washer connection

two questions together on this one.

2008 unlimited sahara 4x4.

first, i just put my hard top back on for a long trip and have had trouble getting the washer fluid line to work properly. some water will come out on the back window, but there is still a fair amount of fluid spraying inside. i even had someone engage the washer while i sat in the back and pushed/held the line to keep a good connection and maybe force out any air. no dice though. suggestions?

second, and the strange one. i pulled a u-haul and after a few hours into the trip, i noticed the left turn signal light on either the trailer or the rear of the jeep were out. after dropping the trailer, it gets weird. if i turn on my lights, the left rear light is out while the right one is fine. then if i turn the left blinker on, everything works fine while the right light goes out. then the right blinker quits working also. i'm hoping the trailer didn't short something out. it just passed inspection about two weeks ago so everything was working normally then. i'm at a loss.

update

ok, so the washer fluid line is not a problem now. evidently there was an air pocket that was finally pushed out.

however, still having the tail light problems. any ideas?
