:thumb: once you start looking over the 2012, you can see some of the improvements. the tailgate now stays locked when fully in the opened position. no more holding on to it when loading cargo on a incline.
Our '11 JKUR has this feature as well. It is a lock bar that it is in the tailgate. It engages on a detent when you fully open the taligate. Celtic, are you sure yours does not have it?
rubicube on my 2011 it stays open, almost the same system thats installed on a standard car door......i think the put that in when they redesigned the interior for the 2011's
Daaaah! I just went out and checked it. The Leprechauns that mysteriously take care of "PeeJ" when I'm not looking must have installed it last night. Glad to see they are still on their toes.:whistling:
Do they really? My first day, Day one! with my Wrangler I opened the tailgate fully, and both the plastic hinge covers shot off the back. I have not opened it fully since having them replaced.

Hi fellow Jeepers
Does any one know what the part
that holds the tailgate open is called(or a part number).
Mine just broke
