So after lifting a new 2016 JKUR I have a bunch of practically new suspension parts. Other than the wheels/tires, do any of these parts have any value? Has anyone had any success selling them locally?
I think lots of people successfully sell the "higher level" suspension takeoffs regularly. Often times people like me got the sport suspension and might be looking for an inexpensive upgrade like this.
I see people trying to get $50-100 for the stock plastic bumpers all day long and not getting it, same with the tire carrier. Springs and Shocks should fetch around $200 or so.
You looking for wheels and tires? I just got a sport with the gray rims and been debating trying to sell them to get a little bigger tire and black rims. I assume you are looking for the Rubi rims but thought I'd ask
Here in the DC area, stock take offs:
Wheels/tires with low miles - $500-1k depending on trim level. Rubicon and HR go towards the upper end of that range, sell within a week or two
Springs - If you've got 19/60 springs (loaded JKU Rubicon with hard top), they'll go for ~$150 in a few days, otherwise they sit until you scrap them
Bumpers - You can usually get $50 each from a body shop, but otherwise you can give them away or recycle, because they won't sell.
Stock grill - for those who go to angry eyes / grumper / spartan etc... Stock grill will sell for ~$50-60
Fender flares - Stock sets go within a week or two at $100, body color flares don't seem to sell at all
Dual-Tops - for the indecisive:
JK Hard Tops sit for weeks at $1250 or sell in days at $1k
JK Soft Tops sell for $500-1k depending on standard or premium, and tint or no tint
JKU Hard Tops sit for weeks at $1k or sell in days at $800
JKU Soft Tops sell for $350-750 depending on standard or premium, and tint or no tint
All Tops - Tint raises the resale value, and on soft tops premium does as well. Body color lowers the hard top value unless you find that ONE person who wants that particular color code.
Any takeoff part that isn't pristine will usually sit forever or sell at a substantially lower price.
Any takeoff part that is priced above what I said here will sit forever on Craigslist until that one gullible person comes along maybe months down the road...
Thanks, I've been trying to get a rough idea and your list is very good. I would add WW and BB wheels seem to be the highest premium right now in both mopar list price and cast off.
I got $150 for springs, shocks, and front driveshaft (all with 15 miles on them) from a 2016 JKU sport. It took about 3 days and I was happy to have them out of my garage so quickly.
Anybody familiar with the DFW area??? I've got a set of Rubicon wheels and a HR front bumper, but don't know where to start... Craigs is full of flakes. I haven't even put the stock bumper up as I figured I would have to pay someone to take it...
Body shop is an interesting idea - anyone in DFW know of a shop that will take a stock bumper?
Thanks
