Taking off the doors

Greetings YJ'S....I'm usually over on the TJ threads since that's what I own. But I wanted to ask a question about removing the doors on the new 4 door Unlimited. My sister n law recently purchased one and showed up at the house with the entire roof on, and the doors still on. I told her it was a sin when the sun is shining on a hot, summer day. She mentioned she didn't know how to remove the doors.
I assume you use a Torx bit to remove the doors from the hinge, but what about the electric windows/doors? Also, is there a fuse that needs to be removed, as the TJ has the famous #4?
Thanks for you help.

It's all in the owner's manual. Depending on the top she has you may need a T30 & a T50 to remove a factory hard top. The doors have a cable that needs to be disconnected, but it's designed for a quick disconnect. I am not aware of any fuses that need to be removed, but again check the manual - it's in there - no matter how poorly organized.

No fuse... One connector on each door. Push the red tab to the opposite side and then push the additional tab on the connector and pull down and it comes out easily.

Door pins come off with a T50. Do this early and then put some grease on the pins so that they can be easily removed again. My dad's TJ's doors won't come off since he never tried until 5 years after buying it.

Easiest way is to open the doors to a 90 degree angle (be careful to not let the door swing open completely) and roll down the windows. Rock the door back and forth slightly while pulling up and your shoulder and arm through the window opening.

Torx T50 Bit or wrench. I bought the bit for under $5 at autozone and keep it in my glove box. That is all you need!

I suggest everyone take off their doors at least once. I can do the top and doors in 15-20 minutes without help and I do it every weekend that it doesn't rain. Just remember to get some mirrors to keep yourself legal.

I took my doors off on the weekend for the first time - was pretty simple. T50 torx and about 5 minutes to do it. No fuse to pull... ALTHOUGH, one weird thing when I got back to my truck about 2 hours, the red light over the engin temp guage was on... any ideas?
