tell me about your busy saturday

here's how mine has started so far.

first, sanded down the rust caused from the cut I made on the vacuum pump bracket in order to install my stubby bumper and gave it a shot of rustoleum, feels good to know it's no longer rusty

2 best parts of the 3 mods I did today though for 2 reasons, CHEAP and GREAT LOOKING.

first, cleaned up the engine bay with conduit as I told myself I would after doing my aux light install and being too lazy to do it at the time. also specifically wanted to post this up and say that I highly recommend it for all wiring, great stuff and offers a better looking bay. will never do another install that requires wiring without buying this stuff before hand.

before

after

second mod, I felt that with a name like smittybilt, the plastic tubing on the rear part of the cargo net just wasn't doing it...

before

took out the tubing and placed it next to the steel rod I bought and cut with a hack saw to fit...lol, look at how it rolls

and after putting the steel rod in, much better!

still gotta figure out where to put my "wranglerforum.com" decal...

anyone else had a busy saturday with their jk or just one in general, fun or not?

Your Sat was definitely more Jeep oriented and Jeep productive than mine.

Getting ready to leave Monday for a 4 day trip to Boston, spent the day mowing, and other chores. Went for a very short ride on the Ducati MTS 1200S, just because I needed it.

You mean on the bottom part of the windshield? I'd be worried the windshield wipers would peel it up, eventually.

Man, a black one's gonna be tough. I've got an extra white one, if you want it.

I meant in this area. whatever you call that jeep grille with headlights, lol

yea, having a black decal is proving to be more challenging than I initially figured when I selected the color lol...

Ah, I see. I thought you meant your real headlights.

That might work...it'll reinforce the blackout scheme, anyway.

Not a jeep productive day.. Drove to a spay off wash place and lost some of the bugs from the windshield

Now I've got a pop when I turn left while moving. I think I sprayed the fender loose.....

Washed the new JKU Arctic and treated it to it's first waxing with Turtle Wax ICE spray wax. Always been a Meguiar's fan, but wanted to stick with the "theme." Lol!

I left the house at 5:15 a.m. to go do some turkey scouting out in warrenton, va since the season opens next saturday and came home to find out that my spacers from Teraflex had been delivered so I threw those in this afternoon. Then I sold my stock JKUR bumper and airdam and added more money to the "35's and new wheels piggybank"

I had a full 1 inch "JK lean" on the passenger side going on after the lift and TF sent me spacers free of charge to make sure I was satisfied and I sure am now. Nice and level

Washed the Jeep, wiped the dust from the last off-road trip out of the engine bay. Took the freedom tops off for the rest of the weekend (and maybe monday if the weather holds, Tuesday is going to be rain). Then pulled out a junked door panel and a DeWalt 849 rotary both of which acquired/borrowed from a friend and did a little self learning about how to use a rotary buffer. Learned I need more practice lol. After intentionally trying I couldn't burn the paint with a cutting pad and medium cut compound though (probably not much clearcoat left in that spot though).

Technically still Saturday night to me. 4:30AM right now. Been up most of the night with my son. Waiting for the ibuprofin to kick in and get his fever down, poor kid got a bad flu bug. Thanks all for all the Jeep related chores, great reading to escape the bad smells and lack of sleep going on here right now. Happy Easter to all. Hope E.B. put something special in your baskets for your babies aka JEEPS.
