Teraflex 2.5 Coil Lift Install - pics

A very big thanks to Dustin (DJstorm) on here for his help with this install last weekend. Had to make two small adjustments to align the steering wheel afterward but couldn't be happier with the new comfort and handling. Everything went very smooth during install. A big thanks also to Dave at Northridge4x4 for his pre/post ordering help and great price.

The ride comfort has certainly improved as it's easy to tell the difference when going over speed bumps, small animals, slower traffic etc... The jeep does handle differently because of the increased height. It is something I'm getting used to but it felt natural to me before I even got home after the install. The tires are 33x12.5R15 Goodyear Duratracs on MB72 wheels.

Do you think you would be able to fit 35x12.5 on there? Pretty sweet ride!

You could do 35s I believe with no problem. There is plenty of room.

Handling is different there is no doubt about that. I like it very much so far and I'm enjoying the smoothness I get when driving over different terrain and levels. Very smooth. There is definitely some getting used to with this height. You need to slow down around turns to avoid leaning (although there is very little if you don't) and there is no dip when braking in the front end.

I think the front and rear axles may be slightly off center so I ordered a set of front and rear track bars today to make sure I can re center them once the lift settles.

Two questions: Did you end up getting control arms as well, and what type of trackbars did you order?

Man I'm jealous . . .

Looks doubly good with your stubby bumper caps. The stubby gives the "open" look from the front to some bigger tires with a lift. Real nice. This is on my list... someday.

I got the JKS front and rear adjustable bars from Northridge4x4. I don't think control arms are going to be necessary with this height.

Good news. One more--did the lift appear to level the jeep as well?

Honestly it depends on the angle you look at it. If you are looking at the Jeep from straight on or a little to one side at the front, it appears higher than the rear (judging by the top of the tires to the flares and space between). If you are standing and looking at the jeep from the side maybe 10-20 feet it looks level. It also looks level from the rear.

Give me a sec and I'll try to get a few more pics up to show. Here ya go.

On a flat surface

On a sight hill

That's pretty much what I'm looking at doing, except on a JKU and going with some 35" Duratracs.

A few more to show the front and rear up close looking at the front flare to the top of the tire. At almost every angle the jeep looks level.

Nice work Jude. Your Jeep is really growing up. Almost time to start the hard work: Spending money that people can't see. (Or that most people overlook, anyway.)
