Teraflex 2.5" Lift Install Before/After

Some folks asked me to post the before and after shots of my white 10th Anniversary Rubicon JKUR with it's 2.5" Teraflex lift installed. In addition to the lift, I also added Bilstein 5100 shocks, front and rear Teraflex HD adjustable trackbars, AEV geometry correction bracket and Teraflex exhaust spacers. All of this is sitting on top of Rugged Ridge satin black 17x9 wheels and 35" Nitto Trail Grappler's. Holding the spare is Teraflex's new HD hinged tire carrier.

One of my objectives in this project was to maintain the relationship of tire to wheel well (notice they're very close to stock) and also to maintain the factory rake.

I created duplicate shots of the before and after so you can really compare the look of stock, vs. a 2.5" lift and 35" tires. Hope you enjoy the pics!

That looks awesome! I am headed to some of the same first few mods- Teraflex 2.5, Rugged Ridge wheels, TF hinge carrier, and FlashCal. Thanks for the renewed inspiration! Can't wait for my '14 to arrive!

Yeah I have to do that! That is perfect for me. Looking for a nice lift with nice clearance, not jacked up, not looking like it's going to rub, great on-road behavior, light off road ability increase, DD worthy. Looks perfect to me.

I am off to calculate the expense on all that as well as price to see how long I have to wait to make mine look like that!

I had a mechanical engineer friend at work with previous Jeep lift experience tackle the project for me at his home garage.

Looks good. Watch your pinch seam if it wasn't already trimmed.

Trimmed from the factory. We also trimmed the Rubi rock rails... can never tell they didn't come that way.. pretty happy with everything.

another lift done right.

a wheeling buddy of mine has the teraflex 2.5 coils/9500 shocks on his 2013. his driveshaft angle is pretty bad and long story short...he's waiting on replacement driveshaft and he couldn't go wheeling with us yesterday bcuz of that.

$45 spent is way better than those triple digit driveshaft replacements.

how does $45 solve driveshaft angle with a lift? I was under the impression a lift is a lift and the further the rear diff moves from the underside of the vehicle the steeper the angle and at a certain point around an advertised 3" lift it starts to tear up the dust boot on the joint.

Looks like this is about a $5K transformation give or take. Certainly my goal but I believe I will break it up to lift and tire carrier with spacers and then next year wheels and tires as those alone are a good chunk o change

Way to go and thanks for posting such great shots of what this combo looks like as it's exactly what I'm looking for.

Looks great. Nice looking Jeep! This is making me think I need 37's when I pick up my 2014 Rubi... I miss the good ole days when 33's and 35's looked awesome on the CJ's YJ's and TJ's. I feel like 35's are the new 33's and 37's are the new 35's when it comes to the JK's. The 35's look awesome, but it is hard to beat the look of the 37's... Sorry to ramble on. Your Jeep looks great. I will probably wind up with 3.5" lift and 35's.
Congrats on a lift well done!

The teraflex exhaust spacer gives more clearance to the driveshaft. You can live without one if u don't wheel ur rig.

Great looking Jeep!! I think that is exactly what I'll be doing with my 2014. I had the Teraflex 4.5" on my JK wih 33s, this will just about duplicate the look on 35s. Thanks for the great pictures!

That looks GREAT!

35s are a 'natural' fit for this sized lift.

I thought so too. I always had a hard time with posts that show before and after shots, and the photos weren't taken from the same spot on the vehicle so you couldn't really compare the two.

Were the stock 10A rims unusable after this transformation due to back spacing, or did you just choose to get the rubber on new rims?

The 35" tires wouldn't fit on the stock rims due to the required backspacing. My 10A wheels and tires are on a nice couple's 2012 Sport.

what's your front and rear hub center to fender bottom?

while not perfect, I've found that's a good way to compare lifts (if you posted it before, I missed it).

I like that setup, really nice. I'm starting to like those wheels over AEVs. I wish more manf. would roll out a hub centric 17 for JK...
