Question Teraflex 2.5" vs SuperLift 2.5" Lift kits?

I'm looking to be doing a 2.5" lift on my 2010 JK 2dr Sport eventually. I Have read through the newbys guide to lifting and decided a 2.5" will be plenty good for me. Don't know when I will be doing it but came across these 2 kits, price difference is significant wondering pros and cons/opinions/experiences with each or recommendations as money is always tight.

Teraflex
Teraflex 1251002 - TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Kit with Shocks for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec

SuperLift
Superlift Suspension 2.5" Lift Kit with Superide Shocks for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec

The TF comes with bumpstops, a relic. bracket for the rear track bar and new rear sway bar links. I don't know anything about super lifts but can say so far am happy with my TF 2.5.

Based on my past experience I would run away from Superlift. Superlift is Poorly made, poorly engineered and very rust prone.

Superlift isn't known for quality lifts. TF is. You get what you pay for. You can't buy four Rancho 9000's for what they want for the entire Superlift kit. Stick with the Teraflex.

TF kit (without shocks or extensions)
- includes rear axle side TB bracket.
Rancho 9000 shocks 29xl front and 30xl rear.
Northridge 9/16 bolt kit for lower CA's/TB's (DW prevention)

Recommended but not needed (right away)
-Control arm drop brackets or front lower CA's for caster correction. Trust me ... Caster angle plays a roll in good handling.
-front adjustable track bar for axle center and rigidity (DW prevention)

I don't expect folks to read through the entire lift thread. If you did .. I recommended the mentioned combo a lot and I see great reviews.

Good luck with your build

That's exactly what I've got except for the adjustable track bar though it's on my list. Solid set up that rides great. Totally drivable before the drop brackets too. A bit light in the steering and a little brake dive but nothing too bad. With them it drives like stock again.

Superlift’s 2.5” lift for the JK is the ultimate entry level lift kit for JK owners who are looking for their first lift kit. At $349.95, which includes replacement coils with wheelbase specific rates (a separate kit for the 2-door or 4-door model), shocks at all 4-corners, and realignment plates that help restore proper steering (caster) alignment, our 2.5" lift kit truly is the perfect combination of performance and value.

I noticed that poster had some choice comments, but I have to say that he is dead wrong. Think about this:
• Superlift lift kits are Made in America
• Superlift lift kits come with pretty much no questions asked life-time warranty – if you bought it, and you break it or a part does happen to fail – we’ll replace it.
• Superlift lift kits come with a 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. That's right, after you lift your Jeep if you aren't satisfied with ride, the quality or just decide you don't like a lifted vehicle - take the kit off and send it back and we will gladly refund the purchase price of the kit - and we'll pay to have it shipped back to us.
• You also have the best customer service in the industry at your service – if you have questions about our kit, or a competitors kit, call us toll free at 800-551-4955 and talk with one of our people. We’ll take the time to explain our products and help you determine the right products for you – even if it means directing you to competitor. Seriously.

For more information online, visit our web site and do a quick search for JK Lift Kits.

Have a great day - and remember to Live It Up!

So why the rancho shocks? Are the teraflex no good? I kind of like the idea of it all matching.

To be honest .. The Rancho 9000's are freaking awesome. Not too many complaints on the forums. People love them.

I did run the TF 9550's for a short time. Not a bad shock but on the firm side.

Welcome! I'd love to hear some rebuttal to the scuttlebutt about the various lift brands. Some get a bad reputation for whatever reason but companies change, update products, etc. Convince us, Superlift!

I agree. I had a really bad experience with Superlift in the past on a leaf spring lift but maybe they have changed?

Ok. You want me to convince you, I can do that. Better yet, I’ll let MJW1986 do it for us. This is how confident we are in our lift kits. I’ll give MJW1986 Superlift’s 2.5” lift kit, so he can install it and then post an honest, objective review of it. If he doesn’t like it he can take it off and send it back, and I buy him a competitor’s kit to replace it.

We’d like to get before and after pictures of his Jeep, and some of the installation of the kit – video would be even better. We’ll even use him and his JK in future advertising if he wants… we love showing off just how good we are.

I’ll sweeten the pot – I am so confident I'll do the same with our 4" kit for someone else on the forum. We have one stipulation - both reviews must be done as new posts /new threads.

So, MJW1986 - are you UP for it?

Superlift. I just purchase a 2014 JKUR 5 days ago. Took It to big bear lake today and had a blast off road. A lift is definitely needed....lol. Do you have a 3 inch kit for that. I am a total newbie so I have lots of questions. Do the kits come with all the parts needed? I see threads where people buy kits then say they added parts later to increase performance. Such as adjustable track bar. Etc. Thx

Superlift.....sorry for all the questions. I saw you mentioned a 2.5 lift and a 4 inch lift. For rock crawling and Utah type use (moab). Vs mudding. Which one will have a better use. Obviously there is a ground clearance difference but is 4 too tall and more prone to tipping while rock crawling? Thanks again. I hope the creator of the thread responds because that's a great offer and a good way to get the word out. I'd jump on either !!!!!

Now that is what I want to see from a company. They ARE putting forth the effort to impact our opinion and looking for our feedback.

Unfortunately, I cannot participate in the 4" option as it would not fit in my garage when completed.

Good luck!

I agree. That says a lot about their confidence. Superlift if the offer stands I would be willing to do the 2.5 lift. Like I posted earlier it's a 5 day old 2014 JKUR.

I'm glad to see Superlift stepping up to the plate. I look forward to the reviews and write-ups. Can't have too much competition.

Agreed. Welcome to the forum superlift and I'm glad to see your stepping up to the plate and are ready to stand behind your products. I will be waiting these reviews and would love to see a nice budget minded coil kit come to market. Can't beat the price of the 2.5" kit. Hope to see you around more often!!

Holy crap! Now that's putting your money where your mouth is!

I've been saving for a 2.5" lift, wheels, and tires and am planning on going w/ teraflex, but I'm going to be watching this thread closely.

If I was planning on installing the lift myself, I'd consider throwing in on the 4", but I think someone who is personally turning the wrench should be the review writer.

Again, love the moxie being shown by Superlift......

There's a vendor GIVING AWAY two lifts on a Jeep forum, and this is all the attention it's getting?

I know, right??

I could work the 2.5 but there is already a couple in line ahead... I'd go for the 4" but immediately went out and measured and with 35's, I'd be over an inch too tall for the garage.

I want to see this take off and RUN!!!

Yea I hit them up almost immediately after he posted the two lifts. I was surprised I was the first to see it. Was hoping to try the 2.5 lift, post some pics and videos and give an honest feedback. I have never had a lifted jeep and in fact my jeep is only 7 days old. Lol. Hope they come through, if not for me for someone here to review.

I just lifted my Jeep otherwise I'd give this a shot. I ain't taking off my lift for nobody. Too much blood, sweat and tears invested.

It is hard to believe this isn't seeing more attention but it is buried under another topic. The title doesn't scream "FREE LIFTS!"

I am tagging this thread to see how it comes out. I'm beginning to consider a 2.5 inch lift myself.

Kudos to Superlift for putting their money where their mouth is and their product on the line risk free! Would live to have seen this earlier as I am soon looking to be doing a 3.5-4 inch on my brand new JKR and would have volunteered risk free. Looks like I am too late to the party, but hope those who get them post up honest feedback!
