Teraflex

Will the 2.5 inch Teraflex lift kit with shocks level out my jeep? or will i have to buy a leveling kit as well?
I'm asking because a Quadratec user said it did, and another user said it didn't. Thanks guys in advance!

I had the 2.5 on my 08 JKU and it sat level. Before the kit it had the nose rake and the kit did fix it. Worst case you could add a 1/2 spacer in the front if you had to but unless you are running a heavy bumper/winch I doubt you will need it.

Short answer: Yes, it will level out your Jeep

Long answer: If you have a heavy front bumper and a winch like I do, you may want a 1/2" spacer. My recommendation is to do all of your upgrades (lift, bumpers, winch, tires, anything else heavy) then go back and measure the front and back to see if they're level. The fewer times you mess with your suspension the happier you'll be and the less money you'll spend.

In my case, I installed the front and back bumpers and a winch. I had a heavy rake in the front because of the factory rake and front bumper and the winch was heavier than the rear bumper. After I did my lift there was still a small rake in the front. After I added my tires, the spare tire weighed enough to level it out. So all in all I didn't need a spacer.

The Teraflex 2.5 Inch Lift Kit with Shocks should level out the factory rack just fine. It looks from you picture that your JKU doesn't have a heavy after market bumper or winch on the front that would cause any additional sagging.

Note that if/when you add these things you may need a spacer to keep things leveled out.

Let me know if you have any questions at all!

Here is mine before and after with the Tearaflex 2.5 inch coil lift. No aftermarket bumpers yet.

I called Teraflex before I did it and they said their 2.5 inch coil lift is good for 3 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back. In fact, if you ever have a question about Teraflex, their tech support is great.

I could not agree more. In fact, after a long hard days work, I think I will just pour myself a drink, light up a good cigar, and go here:

I spoke to Teraflex about this because my shop told me I did not need exhaust spacers on a 2.5 inch lift and they did not install them. But during a routine service at the dealer I noticed when the rig was up on the lift at full suspension extension there was contact between the exhaust pipe and the plastic drive shaft boot (I have a two door). You can check this on your rig easily the next time it is on a lift.

Teraflex told me that there can be contact at full extension but that this can rarely happen except on a lift or if I went jumping. In situations where one wheel comes off the ground in uneven terrain, the exhaust and the boot will not make contact.

I decided to be conservative and had the exhaust spacers installed. At my shop rate it was one hour of labor and parts = $140.00.

Pic 1 below shows the stock set up with plenty of clearance when the rig is at rest with the weight on the suspension. On the lift the drive shaft drops enough to touch. Pic 2 is a shot of one of the two Teraflex exhaust extensions after install.

That boot may get a couple burn spots on it but it won't matter. You can cut the boot off and throw it away, it just covers a Grobe Spline Shaft that has no wear issues to protect. With enough of a lift to cause exhaust contact the driveshaft will likely last no longer than 40-50k miles anyway.
