Teraflex hd hinged carrier

Hello,

Yesterday I install my Teraflex hd hinged carrier. I buy the complete kit that include the tire carrier, but I use the stock tire carrier because I just have a 33" tire, when I move to 35 then I will use the tire carrier.

During the installation I notice that the upper part of the hinged do not get to complete flat over the tailgate, but when I install the screws everything get fine.

I do not hear any rattle, vibration or anything, now is realy quite. I thing that I saw is that the tire carier is not complete flat because one part of it is over ther the hinged and the spacer that bring the kit are really thin and do not matches the height of the carrier. Does some one have this issue before, do I have to worry about this and that when I install the carrier was not complete flat?

The tailgate open and fill greate.

Aren't there shims that go on the left side?

You don't put any shims on the passenger side, only at the driver side to straighten the tire carrier.

That's why I said left, meaning drivers side.

OP, just curious, why not go ahead and install the tire carrier now? Why waiting until you get 35s?

Better question is why not just get 35's? Why wait until the 33's wear out??

i'll be installing one of these next weekend. there is a good installation video on this from Teraflex. they stress not tightening up some screws until others are in, perhaps that might be why there was a slight gap?

I'm in the same boat. A lot to spend at one time seeing as how a regear is needed. I'm getting the TF kit soon and will upgrade to 35s as soon as I have the funds available.

If you buy the whole kit that comes with our tire carrier you do not get the shims as you don't need them. But if you order just the hinge you do get the spacers. But we will def. send the spacers out to ya if you need them.
