Teraflex hinge/tire carrier with poison spyder rear bumper?

Already rockin the TF hinge/tire carrier combo with 35s

If I ran the PSC rockbrawler II rear bumper, would I still be able to get the tire to fit snug against the hinge without it hitting the bumper? Looks like a tight fit there

The area highlighted in red is what I'm concerned with. Will I still be able to get the tire back there?

Like this picture, does the tire fit snug against the hinge without hitting the top side of the bumper?

I have the TF hinge/carrier with the rockbrawler rear and 35s. I didnt adjust the carrier to be completely snug on the carrier (probably a .5 inch gap between the spare and hinge) and it doesn't hit the bumper. If it was completely snug, it would sit flush against the top lip of the rear bumper.

You could always adjust the mounting bolts on the carrier to be at the 37" tire configuration and that'll probably raise your spare higher and it won't contact the rear bumper.

Thanks for your quick response

Would you be able to measure the distance between the red lines? It looks really tight if I put the tire snug up against the bumper!

I have the original rock brawler, I don't have the new one. Do you want me to measure it still?

Just get the Poison Spyder tire carrier that's coming out soon.. It's only $850 haha but I bet it works with all of their bumpers.

So I emailed PSC, and they said the size of the upper lip on the Rockbrawler II is 3 inches (see photo)

He said when compared to the original Rockbrawler rear bumper, this is significantly larger

For anyone running a TF carrier with the new rockbrawler, you may not be able to snug it up against the hinge without it hitting the upper lip of the bumper

Anyone with the original bumper or new bumper care to chime in?

Here's a pic of the older one, the lip is thinner than 3 inches?

Thanks for your help, I just ordered the rockbrawler I rear bumper, there's no way my tire would fit snug against the hinge if the lip on the bumper was 3 inches.

FYI - I did a test fit today with the rockbrawler rearand it fits like a glove. There is no contact with my 35s. However, if I got the newer Rockbrawler II bumper with the 3 inch lip, it would not have clearance and it would hit the lip.

Thanks for the tips! It saved me A LOT of headache

I can confirm a fitment problem between the new Poison Spyder brawler design and the teraflex hinge spare carrier. I believe that I could raise the tire up a notch in the TF carrier and this would allow me to snug up the tire to the hinge, but this will reduce driving visibility. I love the bumper, but wish I would have known about this before I bought, painted, installed (front and rear) and finally smashed my finger!! Hope this helps the next guy...
