Teraflex lifts or Rubicon Express lifts?

I'm debating on a 2.5" or 3" Teraflex lift or Rubicon Express lift for my 2015 Hard Rock Rubicon unlimited. I was leaning toward Teraflex but I spoke to a guy at a dealership who stated the Rubicon Express was better and he had several problems with the teraflex lift after installing several of them but with no specifics. I'm torn. Thoughts?

I have a modified RE 2.5 and perfectly happy with it. Terra flex is a little overrated in my opinion. The best lift is a Franken lift if you have the time and money to spend...not all kits are complete and or they have some good parts and other parts not so good.I think it is best to shop around and get the best of all components. just my opinion...YMMV

on edit I want to be clear and say RE is not necessarily better then Terra flex I just think they are overrated where RE does the same job for less

I don't have any on this computer (my work computer) but it handles much better then stock..nice controllable ride. firm but supple if that makes sense...it took away that boat motion when hitting undulations on the freeway..My son and a couple of others have the exact same set up as me and they love it also...another way to go is look up DPG offroad..he has kits from mild to wild with all the good stuff...the 1800 kit is a nice all around kit..if you are just going for the look then just get a standard kit with shocks and call it a day...35s will fit
Just a thought

on edit...I went with the RE 2.5 STANDARD kit with out shocks...and went with ranchos and other stuff...but the standard kit will do fine..Not a huge fan of the RE shocks but that is personal choice...your butt may vary in regards to shocks..i like the adjustability of the ranchos

Do you want fixed rate springs or multi-rate springs? I really wrestled with it and concluded metal cloak was the best of the bunch.

But I don't need the best so I ended up with a Teraflex 2.5" spring lift in my JKUR. I'm of the opinion that mult rate springs are not the best way to go.

Not really sure what the difference is. I think the standard RE 2.5" without shocks is ideal for what I intend to use it for ( trails, camping etc. no rock climbing) I also intend to use a different shock with this set up after reading a lot of threads and deciding on upgraded shocks.

With both kits you should consider adding caster correction. The RE kit comes with cam bolts that you shouldn't use. The TF kit doesn't include anything.

With something like a set of TF sport lower control arms in front, both lots will perform similarly. And particularly so if you use the same shocks on both kits.

I was going to go with OME springs. when I ordered them was told 3 weeks out and then they were stuck on a container ship in LA harbor and were at least a month out over the 3 weeks after I ordered them...I am an impatient bastard so I canceled my order and went with RE...OME is good stuff tho

I still highly rave about this kit. The main key difference between the two are the rear trackbar brackets. I would give the slight edge to teraflex on that one, however, I have not seen or heard of an RE rear trackbar bracket fail. Otherwise, both are almost identical kits. Same coil manufacturer btw.

Here's my old review and I still highly recommend it.

As long as proper caster correction is done and you ignore the cam bolts, I like this kit too. I think it even brings more value than many of the other popular kits due to the mono shocks. I think I would build it with the TF Sport lower control arms and exhaust spacers and that would be a nice set up.

@Pressurized ... I definitely 100% agree!!! Those drop brackets will take a pounding if you use your jeep for its intended purpose especially rocks/deep dirt ruts, BUT It is very stout and can take a beating.

I don't know the price of the fixed teraflex LCA, but the fixed synergy lca is a tad over 200 so it should be equal in value. I'd spend another $100 from the drop brackets and get a fixed lca.

I think the TF's can be had for about $170. But either way, good stuff. I've begun to back away from the brackets on a 2.5. There just isn't enough control arm angle to worry about it and the loss of ground clearance on the lower lift height is less desirable.

Are you doing the new "sport" kit? I don't think we have anyone with that installed yet.

Also, be careful with the Fox steering stabilizer unless it is the ATS version. The regular one is gas charged and can cause a pull in your steering.
