I have been ripping my CD's on to the hard drive for a couple of months now. I know it is the hard way but I want all of the sound I can get and I like any reason to sit in my Jeep.

It's going pretty good but every once in a while the full CD won't rip. Can't redo it, say already done. Is there any way to delete a CD from the HDD and try again?

BTW, I am at 2,267 songs and loving it!

Go to edit playlists, and find the album. You can delete the entire album or just a few songs.

I have three Chrysler products, two with the 730 and one with the 430. I am buying a 730 for the third so anyone that wants a perfect condition 430 out of a 2011 ruby wrangler let me know.

73 hands down, went cross country with it, 430 is retarted they made the garmin adapt to the buttons on the radio that existed. User friendly between the two no comparison, 430 belongs in the trash can.

430 you get the little speed limit sign that tells you what the speed limit is on the road you are on. that is a great feature especially if you long journey in podunk towns. the 730 has traffic option which I will take over the speed limit feature any day.

nav tv is the real product, lock pick is nice but nav tv is the real deal. heard some scuttle that they are in a lawsuit over patent or some crap. when nav tv is done turning lock pick upside down and shaking all the money out of their pockets in the lawsuit you will have a product with no support.

730 with nav tv to over ride the nav and dvd on the fly and reverse cam ask for bob in sales tell him steve with silver hemi referred you and he will take care of you.

if you live anywhere near Boca FL drop off your Jeep and nav tv will be happy to help you get hooked up. They make infrared night vision for the military, they know their shit.

if you go with the pos 430 the lock pick will let you toggle between the speed limit feature and the nav on thy fly. Nav tv saw no point in adding the feature as no one cared about the speed limit option. Great also for a new young driver as the speedo turns red to tell them when they are speeding.

smess, you cut and pasted this from your other response to another thread. Your third and only other post was a dead link about Jeep fires. What's your agenda here? Just asking.

My thoughts EXACTLY. My TomTom app on my iPhone is SO much better for navigation...

In terms of music playback, I have all Apple lossless files on my iPhone and have been playing them through the Apple USB cable. Sounds WAY better than via BT, but I'm a bit of an audiophile. I'm thinking once I do the pillow stuffing mod, I'll be pretty darn happy with the Jeep's sound fidelity.

Direct play of lossless files from the phone is going to be your best bet for sound quality. Don't know if it works on Droid.

Tom, I found this a few days ago when researching adding a backup camera. NavTV allows you (among other things) to input text WHILE driving, watch DVDs on the Nav screen, and view auxiliary cameras like a backup cam.

I need a screen larger than 4" or whatever. Probably a function of age. My first Garmin free standing GPS had twice the real estate of an iPhone.

We make fun of the guys trying to mount an iPad to the dash but if there was a factory option for that I would be all in.

Does anyone know how do get rid of the arrow inside the little circle on the Radar screen? It always covers the area I want to see.

The reason it covers the area you want to see is because it is indicating your location. Don't think you cam remove it.

The best way to see what's underneath the arrow is to switch to the "alternate large screen" mode. This large screen is located slightly above the nav unit, is shaped like a big windsheild, and is in an "always on" configuration..

I agree. I'm hoping some electronics wiz kid will figure out a way to display the factory nav screen image on an alternate device like a a netbook for larger viewing.

The screen that shows the closest map spans 200 miles. Not much use for local weather imho.

I can't find this "alternate large screen" mode?? What do you mean by the "nav unit"? I see nothing that resembles a windsheild?? Help.

So, what is the verdict on 430N or 730N? I am about to order my JKUS, any good reason to pay that extra $810 (MSRP) for a 730N?

Hi

Tried to upload only pictures to the 735N with a USB stick and it do not detect the USB stick at al, greyed out.

I found a solution on a another site, put some mp3 songs on the USB stick and then it will detect the USB and then pause the music and then transfer the pictures.

The manual do not saying anything about this problem, that USB will not be detected with only jpg pictures.

tomthbomb,

loickpick does have the feature to toggle back and forth between the speedo on and the nav in motion on.

the 730 has traffic which most people love and detrur options etc,

I ended up with a 430 in my 11 ruby by accident I did not relaize they snuck it in on me, I just replaced my 430 with a 730 pplu and play. You can get a nice clean perfect one for e around 8-900

sell the 430 and the net should be minimal,

A lot of people love the silly spped limit option, its a jeep.

I have a perfect 430 with a lockpick for sale if anymone needs.

730 has some other cool new features for 11 and 12, 430 only advantage is garmin is the king of the streets in the US but the 430 is the most non uiser freindly nav ever. I couldnt get it out fast enough,

I have the OLD 730N the RER version with No Travel link and no U Connect. I have owned this radio for 3 years now and if I can answer any questions, I will be happy to.

I personally just ordered a 2013 Rubicon and I ordered with the 430N because I think the Garmin is more accurate than the Navitech.

You can delete files. If you go through the menu, there is an option. I would have to go out and do it to give you directions.

You can not save the stuff on the HD. I put all my files on a flash drive and save them on the computer.

I put some of my CD's on my HD but the tracks are not always named and I don't like that. Now I have an I phone I just buy digital albums.

My 730N keeps losing HOME on the GPS.
I can put my address in favorites but HOME goes away.
Am I the only one with this issue?

Nope mine does it all the time. Makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a soldering iron. If you bring it to the dealer, they will take your Jeep, make you wait 3 days, replace your 730 unit and you will have the same problem. I just live with it until they figure it out.
