I get waves daily! I see a couple of Jeeps in the morning and afternoon. I love it!

This afternoon a guy in a VDOT truck waved! I waved back. Does that count as a Jeep wave?

Not sure why it loaded sideways. Oh well. My kids call out "hola jeep" and wave every time they see a jeep even though we dont have ours yet. I hate to admit but they waved to a hummer - it was a teachable moment - wont happen again - Good practice though.

2012 - your Jeep looks good!! It will look better with your plates. You really need to get the tire cover like Jimbox to go with your plates!! Or, get a custom one with Right Side Up and Wrong (upside down) or something.

My plate frame arrived today for the back - put it on there immediately. The frame was the only thing I had on my Jeep with the name of the dealership.

My front license was put on with only the two top screws - it hangs down below the bumper. Yours doesn't. Is that a Sahara/Rubi difference, or a dealership difference???

Jauker - even I will say that you have an attractive family!! Looks like two kids missed getting their pictures taken, though!

I had looked in Target and Old Navy for Crush shirts - both of those places often have shirts like that. Neither had them a few weeks ago.

They had a section of retro t-shirts in the men's section.

Ideal to me is oil change and 5 tire rotation every 5K. Dealer offers free oil changes, but think only with Dino. Maybe I'll take advantage of that
Toyota also used to recommend fossil for the first 10K, with the same concern about inadequate break-in. With the 11s and up, they now go with synthetic and change every 10K. Full synthetic has always been good for 15K, but I've personally changed every 7500 [miles]. I start at 1000, then again at 7500, and every 7500 after that. That's for road use tho. Offroad - pull your dipstick and LOOK at the oil. Every 3000 or so is probably more suited to casual offroading. Severe offroading - every trip. Let your owner's manual be your guide for straight road use, and adjust for full synthetic. YMMV.

Finally got time to complete (and document) my first few mods. From here I have pretty much been informed that there will no mods until Christmas... But I have put together a wish list!

After only 20 days I'm in BG status now according to the dealer. So I've gone from ready to be scheduled to "really" ready to be scheduled...... So it goes. Ohhh this is the life waiting for your jeep to come home where it belongs. It's the pirates life for me.

I've thought of one good thing about waiting, I'm learning a lot on this forum about the JK I would not know otherwise, like which headlight upgrade to do, etc ad infinitum. Planning the mods is part of the fun

It is also part of the expense!!!!!!

I only have the shorty antenna - something I could do easily!! My license plate frame came yesterday, not a real mod, but better than the one from the dealership!! I want to do the grill inserts, but have't gotten those yet. I would really like the Ace rails, but I would have to figure out somebody to install those.

I agree that the headlights could be better and would like those also. They are better than the ones I had on the van, though.

The ACE rails will be easy enough for a couple guys to bolt on. They use bolts that are already there but the washers have to be ground down on two edges a bit to fit properly. It wouldn't take you and one other person with some tools more than an hour to complete the job...incl time out for a few beers

I have mine... but I didn't wait!!

So, I've been lurking here for awhile now!

I had decided to trade my 08 4Runner in for a Jeep Wrangler. The more I hung out here reading all of the great posts in the rooms, the more the Rubicon Unlimited in "Crush" was stuck in my head!!!

Yesterday, I was just out for a drive in my 4Runner, and as if a voice called me... it said "stop by the Jeep dealership"!! Low and behold, just off the truck was a Rubicon Unlimited in "Crush"!!! Can you believe it!! There she was... Auto, Leather, 430 Nav, Dual Top Package, Tow Package etc.!!! Everything that I told myself that I HAD to have!!! It only had 14 miles on her (probably a previous test drive?) YEAP!!! She's now mine!

Sorry guys and gals! I know a lot of you have ordered yours and it's been several weeks or more... and I just drove in and bought it... with the exact equipment on it that I would have had if I had ordered it!

Here she is with just 80 miles on her now! Trying to figure out what mods I need to save for!!

I was really lucky!!!

Patrick

Good for you. No one here who waited would have passed up this. Happy for you to be sure. Same happened to me in 06 when I was looking for a replacement for my '95 Dodge dually. Dlr had only one and it was exactly what I would have ordered plus 0% and employee pricing. Sometimes it all just comes together.

Those look good..never run across them before. In Kalif we have to have the covered on pavement. I just changed my headlight bulbs and hope it will be better than stock. I dunno if, in Kalif, I can have any lights besides headlights and fogs on.

Look familiar. Its orange. My parents reminded me when I was very young they owned a 55 Willys jeep. Maybe my subconscious had a hand in my choice of color.
