For those of us who have been waiting for the Crush builds to begin I think we need to have our own thread. I dunno how many of us there are but I've been in contact with actually very few. All of us seem to be stuck in D status since early to mid August. That was OK/understandable until the announced start date of 9/6. Naive I may be but I expected at least a move to D1 and some plan to build on or just after 9/6. None yet for me. No idea here as to whether they actually did start on 9/6

So, I start this thread to help keep us informed together in hopes that we will come back here when anyone notices movement in their status, or has news. We are all as anxious as all the guys who have/love their jeeps were back in July and August when they received their orders.

For me...still in D...:whistling:

I'll probably start a new topic - but had to reply here with the one-time avatar to match what appears to be a very orange jeep name tiggr to be delivered next week ...

Any recommendations or even a checklist on what to look for post delivery? According to my dealer, their PDI takes 3 hours which seems very brief to me. I've seen stories of missing skid-plates, non-working lights, etc. just looking for a "primer".

TIA

When it gets unloaded off the truck, the lot attendant or tech will do a very quick visual inspection sign off on the vehicle. Then he will take it back to the wash bay, remove all the plastic and foam protection pucks from the interior/exterior, put in the appropriate fuses, and wash it down if it's dirty (which they should anyway before delivering it to you). Then they'll check tire pressure, check fluids, put the manuals in the glove box, and then another quick inspection. Seriously, any PDI should only take an hour if that, or that would be all the techs/attendants could do all day. The FINAL inspection is done by YOU ... and you can make that as quick or thorough as you please. You pretty much listed off all the things I'm going to check for.

Also, if you're in a state that does not require a front license plate, that will get screwed on during PDI. If you don't want this done, let it be known!!

I used to be an attendant, and I will be taking mine for a test drive for about 20 mins. I'll check transfer case positions, all the Rubicon goodies (swaybar disconnect, lockers), lights, wipers, fluids, skid plates, steering wheel clunk, key fob functions, and stereo/sat radio/USB controls (including steering wheel controls). This is after a complete top to bottom inspection, paying close attention to vulnerable spots: top of roof, bumper/body corners, fenders/flares, underbody, hood, windshield, mirrors, door jams/sills, and grill.

That's a darn nice looking color. I ordered a 2 door Flame Red, because I wasn't going to order any color sight unseen.

However, Crush certainly appeals to me!!

My Rubicon came in today with the black leather option, so hopefully come early next week, I'll be starting a thread showing the black leather interior.

One thing is for sure, Crush with the black leather interior will be looking SHARP!

Respects,

Richard

Mebbe if you just drove that 'big locomotive' of yours down to her house you'd be irresistible :whistling:

Yeah, well, I have no need to resort to that either!!!!!!!

You know, I wish the caboose was still there. When I was a kid, it was fun to watch for the caboose and wave to the guy sitting in there. Now, there are just endless cars to watch as they pass. I got stuck today - BK forgot to put my sandwich in the bag tonight, so I had to go back. I waited and waited and waited and waited for the train to finally finish. If the boys are with me, I have to tell them NOT to try to say the words out loud that are painted on the sides of the cars!

I stopped once for a dickhead that flipped me off for almost hitting his dog. You'd be suprised how quick an empty train stops. Also how fast shit talkers go the other way when they see the 6'2" 300 pound conductor come flying out the.nose of the engine running towards them! I just wanted to say hi :)
