Thank you nemo! Lol. Seriously though. Think half doors will be to loud for a 2 yr old on a road trip? That's my only concern.

i dont think so honestly. i had a 2dr 2011 before i found out my wife and i were pregnant and traded it in for my 2012 crush unlimited. it had a soft top and tbh, it wasnt that loud, i cant imagine the half doors making it that much worse.

worse case scenario, i feel like people are always looking for half doors, you might be able to swap on craigs list.

my son is 4 months old and my wife and i cruise around with the windows down from time to time. it doesnt seem to bother him, we asked our pediatrician about it being too loud and she had nothing negative to say about it.

i am going through withdrawals though driving with my doors and top on though.

should of mentioned FRONT windows only, we dont roll his down

I really think if I don't go with the rubi ill kick myself in the ass for years to come. And your right about trading doors out. I think I'm gonna do it, Crush was my only need in a jeep because I thought rubis would be out of my price range.

Our 18 month old has been riding around with the Freedom Panels off, she loves te air. As long as you are being mindful of the fact that he sunburns easily, he should be fine :-). Most of the time the sun doesnt even reach our little girl in the back seat. Obviously having the complete top off would be a different story.... Sunscreen and a hat :-)

that is why you should do it.

sports, sport s, saharas are fine and dandy dont get me wrong, mine is a sport. but i also plan on swapping out what makes a rubi a rubi (axle, locks, sway bar disco ect) only thing i wont be doing is the t-case. which may of been worth it getting the rubi for that alone.

I was mostly worried about noise. Wind and sun aren't to bad he likes hates and I have plenty of boonies he likes wearing. Their mom lives 8 hours away and I don't want them freaking out after that drive with lots of noise but I think they should be ok.

It is hard to argue with your logic. And if all else fails I'll just blame you! Or we can trade :P

they should be fine. think about it, the hard top isnt that insulated and it's pretty thin. it doenst block out a whole lot more than the soft top. and the windows are pretty tight so they dont flap around much to generate noise

haha either works

but honestly like i was saying. 4.10 gears on a 2012 are perfect for 35s and usuable on 37s the 3.8l engine with 4.10s was trash on stock wheels let alone 35's ect. so you would need to regear even if you just went to 33's. the 2012 rubi is even more out of the box built to off road than any other year imho.

the only thing you may want to do (not even need) is lift it incase you want new bumpers and get sag on the stock suspension. other than that your good to go

Personally I'd go with the 2013 Sport unless you plan on offroading in really tough areas alot. I have both a a hard top and softtop and much prefer the hardtop.

The transfer case is worth it's weight in gold! That's the best part of the Rubicon! Though if your bot going to go offroad it won't make a iota of a difference.

My other car has a nice stereo. The jeep is too risky since I never have the top and doors on.

My nephew just got an 07 Sahara, soft top. He has a 6 & 3 year old. His girls love it, he said it isn't that noisy and they always want hi to put the top down.

I gather from previous posts that he will be doing some offroading in it. The area he will be living is not far from some great trails.
