Yeah, that is about how I feel. As I said earlier, I really don't expect any of the dates I have to end up being true. Mid-November is when I figure it will actually get here. Stinks.

Well for me shuttle was always a NASA term, but when I moved from Atlanta to Denver they used it to mean moving my stuff on a small truck and then loading it to the big one, so kinda put 2+2 together. Have to imagine not all rail lines in Toledo are connected though...

I am not in I status and I have a loaded on railcar date of 10/25 and arrival in Jessup, MD on 10/28. And, like I said, I am not really positive mine will ever take the train.

I have no problem with trains. I used to take Amtrak to visit friends. Always had a great time getting to know whomever sat next to me!

Only time I mind freight trains is when they make me late to work!! Right now, I have it worked out so I leave town before the neverending train comes rolling through.

I know that the dealership a little north of me gets their Jeeps via truck from Toledo. My dealership is a little south and west of where I live, but would be about the same distance from Toledo. So, I assume they get their Jeeps on a truck also. But, we all know what they say about assuming anything!

I said it before, but I really miss the caboose!!!!!

I'm sure all the guys who lost their jobs thanks to the End of train telemetry devices (flashy red box) probably miss the caboose too.

Waving to the guy in the caboose made it worth the wait as you sat and watched the rest of the train!! It was fun to see who could spot the caboose first! Now the train just ends. Got stopped by a train as I drove home today.

The end of the train is rather anti-climatic now!

I like the people that yell, swear and honk at me after we've had a crossing blocked for a while. I tell them every time.

"I don't want to be here blocking this crossing anymore than you want this train here. I have a job to do as I'm certain you do as well. Now if you'll kindly keep your gestures, honking, and opinions to yourselves. I will get on with my business and clear my train, however, if you wish to continue to be unreasonable. I have got all day."

I do it calmly and professionally. Most of the time they just shut up and let me go to work. One time I had walked up 2 car lengths up my train away from the crossing and one guy started to flash his lights and honk his horn....he could clearly see me still walking towards the engine. I stopped and stood there until he stopped lol. Sometimes I love my job, lol.

I don't think I wrote exactly what I was thinking there. Could it be a matter of distance for different lines? For example I have to go up to Chicago before heading west to Denver, but if there were a line to Denver 50 mi. west of Toledo it could be faster to truck it there vs. taking the train to Chicago and then switching?

Obvious if there is no track nearby, you go by truck first. But maybe there are times when you have a track but it is faster to truck over to another?

Yes, I know, I am way over-thinking this ... Just ... Can't ... help ... it!

Shuttle guy, where does your vehicle go after shuttling?

Your Insight dealer ETA field, near the top - does it have a date? Mine doesn't even though my unloaded from rail car future event says 11/02.

Heard a rumor tonight... Our Crushes were delayed due to issues with getting the paint to match. Pigment issues from supplier in Japan. I trust my source but don't know their source.

Getting the feeling our Saharas have been held up because the color on the fenders, which probably get painted separately, didn't match the rest of the vehicle...

It is a great picture. That area of the country is fascinating - so different than here. Loved what I saw of it 20 years ago.

Murphy struck this morning - I got stuck at a railroad crossing for one of those never-ending trains! Then, I had to wait at a spot where they were working on a bridge. I shouldn't have said anything last night!

Are the Sahara painted flares metal, fiberglas, plastic? A friend's truck cap was supposed to be painted to match his truck exactly, but because it was a different material, it took the color differently. Had to have it done over, and I still see a difference, but I'm sure not gonna tell him ...

Re: Rail
My husband and I took a cross-country trip through Canada on a train. I didn't want to go as I was worried about claustrophobia, but it was really enjoyable. The food was excellent, I had none of my normal insomnia problems, and it was a lot of fun challenging myself to walk through every single car without losing my balance and slamming into the wall ... I really got quite good at it, if I do say so myself. Would I do it again? Probably not. Am I glad I did it once? Most definitely.

Sorry --- now that I re-read my post, I realized it may start Sahara people worrying unnecessarily that their fender flares may not match the vehicle. The truck cap was after-market, being painted in a body shop -- not a factory. Plus, if my friend hadn't brought it to my attention to begin with, I never would have noticed the difference; however, HIS obssessiveness inspired MINE.

Same, I just talked to my dealer and he confirmed the delay. He Didny give me any specifics on why but did say that my jeep hasnt even started yet on the production line. He said based on that the 24th delivery date is probably not going to happen. He said if it makes me feel better he's never seen delays like this in all the years he's worked as the new car mgr. Whatever I should have expected this crap...

Does she have a name, or are you waiting until you meet her?

I recommend Lady J! (Could be for Lady Jeep!)

I am so jealous - I want my Jeep.
