I don't understand that either. One would think that they would build based upon date of order. It is all so random. Somebody who ordered a month after us will probably end up being the first to take delivery.

I really wish somebody would explain the process. I also wish we had a good explanation about the delays of Crush.

I don't think we will ever know the answers to those things, though.

Fairness has nothing to do with it.

Well, yeah, good point. I guess they have their own system and agenda which we are not privy to. FWIW, I agree...we should be closer to first.

It's probably too early to tell for Crush, but many of the delays earlier in the production cycle were feature specific. The one major delay I can think of was the Mopar Black Appearance Group.

Were you able to see the crush color on a jeep prior to ordering one? If so, where did you see it?

No. No Crush JKs exist as of yet. As far as we know, production of them will start 10/1.

No, but maybe there is another minor holdup. Or, maybe they just haven't scheduled it yet for no particular reason.

Yeah, on this topic of some later orders being D1 first... I could easily see Chrysler wanting to build similarly equipped vehicles together. So JK vs. JKU, Sport, Sahara, Rubicon, manual vs. auto, etc. It's probably far more efficient to run as many similar vehicles together as possible.

On scheduling, I'd figure that part availability and number of orders are big influencers.

I can guess that they paint in groups... which makes sense. Probably have to retool to change color, anyway. And they probably have the equipment to run 6-8 colors at a time, which is why we some come and some go. Crush may have even gotten put off because another color was more popular than originally planned.

All speculation, though...

There was a lady who went to a Mopar picnic on Labor Day and they got a plant tour. She said she and hubby saw Four crush color jeeps. But then they may have been having a Snipe hunt along with the picnic too...

(If you dunno what a Snipe Hunt it...google it...don't ask me to explain)

My first thought was that many folks would have no idea what a snipe hunt is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snipe hunts can be fun -- especially with the right hunting partner!!!!!!!!

Hmmmmm, maybe I will have to take up snipe hunting again in the future!!

Back in the day, I MAY have suggested a snipe hunt and then I MAY have suggested that the cute city guy partner up with me since I was a country girl and just knew all about those snipes and hunting them!!! No Jeep then - just a flashlight and some woods where snipes were known to live!!!!!

Hadn't thought about snipe hunting in 20 or so years -- do folks still do that??

Try here:

Urban Dictionary: Snipe Hunt

Once you're done with that, explore the Urban Dictionary a bit for a REAL education....some of it gets really gross.

Snipe hunting, WOW, do I remember those days. If I recall I was 10-12 years old on my first snipe hunt. Never did catch one though. Maybe one of these days someone will take me again. I here they are great for mounting on the wall!! Would be a great story piece.

Congrats. Good to see the timeframe for D1 updating are still consistent per this post:

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/the...ml#post1590289

You went D1 at 6:33 but Insight probably updated around 9AM, maybe a bit earlier. I think mine had updated around 9 as well.

They only do D1 updates once a day. If you don't see it some time in the morning, you're liking waiting until the next day.

For those waiting and interested, I have an app that can check insight for you and send you emails every time it updates. It'll save your F5 key and some things on Insight don't get stored, so you'll have an email record of them. For example, as your Jeep rides the rails, the train may stop places, Insight will show this, but once it leaves that station that line item disappears, it doesn't move to the Completed section.

PM me your VIN and email address if you'd like to be added.
