For those of us who have been waiting for the Crush builds to begin I think we need to have our own thread. I dunno how many of us there are but I've been in contact with actually very few. All of us seem to be stuck in D status since early to mid August. That was OK/understandable until the announced start date of 9/6. Naive I may be but I expected at least a move to D1 and some plan to build on or just after 9/6. None yet for me. No idea here as to whether they actually did start on 9/6

So, I start this thread to help keep us informed together in hopes that we will come back here when anyone notices movement in their status, or has news. We are all as anxious as all the guys who have/love their jeeps were back in July and August when they received their orders.

For me...still in D...:whistling:

Thanks for the automatic updates, rugby! Got shipped to Toledo Supplier Park storage (JS) at 6:06pm this evening. Don't know what that means. Future says I'm getting shuttled to facility (Toledo Nitro Creek Yard) tomorrow!! I'm gonna' get Crushed soon!!

I'm finding it takes a long time to drive a train from Ohio to Calif ;)

Oh I fully realize that. I just use that phrase often for such. I'm now in Cheyenne Wyoming. Funny, it went from Toledo to St. Louis...then up to Chicago ? then headed West. Why St. Louis I have no clue.

No...that's where my jeep is. My shoot is in Jackson Ca. Not far from here. It is kinda strange. The updates I get from Rugby are sometimes three a day. Mostly what changes is their projected delivery date to the dlr. It goes up and down from 10/17 to 10/21 and back and forth...crazy  I'll be gone when it gets here anyway but they'll have time to prep it. If they'll let me, I'll drop off the bumper and winch ahead of time.

I have the same rails..for a two door...but not gonna lift it or do the coil overs..at least not now. I would love to have some half doors but will wait til next summer.

So let me ask a train guy. This train, like most long hauls I guess, will have many different crews along the way. How often do they change crew and how long does that take...how many people change? Just curious.

Half doors are on my list! That is my "temporary" lift until spring time. I'll sell that and install my "full" lift. Just haven't decided what lift I'm going to use. Was thinking AEV but now I'm leaning towards Teraflex.

Well a train crew can and will work for 12hours. The interesting part is the re-crew. If all goes well (taxi called, crew called etc etc. A re-crew will take about 15 minutes (verify paperwork and exchange information) then its just waiting for a track warrant or signal indication to get moving.

That being said. It rarely ever goes that smooth. I have sat waiting for a taxi and re-crew for 8 hours before.

Both the engineer and conductor change at the same time.

Still "production scheduled" on VOTS.
Same here. At least you got D1 on Insight, right? With a ship date near the end of the month? I have nothing... Was thinking when I got a VIN I would at least see some estimates. It is hilarious to me that they say you are scheduled but don't share the date!

Yes, I got D1 on Insight. Dealer evidently has more information once you reach that status.

I know, if they are going to put ETA dates for shipment, why not go ahead and put an ETA for build? They have to know we are all checking it and how excited we get with ANY sort of positive update!!

Not knowing much about trains, what is the difference in the conductor and the engineer?
Well on our railroad about $2 an hour lol.....engineer makes more.engineer runs the train, conductor does all of the work. Switching cars, tying handbrakes, joining air hoses. Copying track warrants, paperwork, radio communications.
On our railroad certified engineers can do both jobs. On a lot of railroads you are one or the other.

Conductor is the "boss" so to speak.
