The Jeep Gets to Play in Puddles Today!

I live in Phoenix area. We don't get rain all that often, much less good downpour kind of rains. It has not rained other than one minor sprinkly shower where I had to use the windshield wipers for about 5 minutes since I got my Wrangler September 29 lol! It can go months with no rain here. It is a desert.

So we get to play in puddles over the next few days - looks to be lots of rain coming in. It is raining right now.

In the part of AZ where I live, most of our drainage is by slopes and washes rather than totally everywhere kind of sewer systems like we had back in Ohio. Basically water runs off into manmade landscape ditches for those who don't know what a wash is. So intersections and parking lots are always the first to get really big puddles in a good rain. One intersection by where I live I had to avoid in the Mustang because the water could be up to the bottom of the front spoiler.

This may seem like nothing to folks out there, but for those who live in AZ, this much rain is a really big deal.

Caveat: I am not talking rivers. And I know to avoid moving water in washes. And fellow Zonas: do remember the stupid motorist law. Yep-here in AZ if you are dumb enough to drive into water and get stuck and need to get fished out by rescue services, they will send you the bill for fishing you out. So don't endanger yourself or the rescuers and stay out of moving and very deep water.

Have fun, MMC! Just remember to take those puddles at slow speed to avoid high splashes up into the engine compartment!

And don't forget to wear your Wellies!

I love the smell of Creosote bush after a nice desert rain. If the top is off, keep movin'!

I'm in Tucson and I don't trust the possible issues of JK + water. I plan on avoiding washes as much as possible...

Avoid the roads altogether. None of these fucking idiots know how to drive. 10 car pileup this morning and two incidents on 10 between Miracle Mile and Irvington.
