that's what the alarm disable chip in the key is for;

and in my area there have been under-hood vandals who have left a mess on more than one occasion

of course "all security is an illusion"....but it's MY illusion.....

Reference the thread where a 2010 rubi was stolen by hotwireing. The chipped keys are bypassable.

I almost picked up the locking gas door then thought my old jeep never had one that locked so why bother, then thought about the hood then thought why bother batteries are cheap and people don't steal them like they used to.
