the right color flag decal

So I ordered some American flag decals for the sides of my Jeep. Since my Jeep is black I wanted to go with the black and white colors (similar to the IR flags you wear when deployed overseas). So I ordered this flag from pixeldecals.com. Guess I didn't think about it and was hoping the decal would be black and white but unfortunately it's just black. So it's almost impossible to see on my black Jeep. Now I thought about going back to the website and ordering the same flag but in white since it would basically work that way but then the stripe on top and bottom would be white which is backwards. Anyone know where I can order a black and white flag for the Jeep? The size of the ones I ordered are 6.5"x3.5 and were ALMOST perfect. Instead I think it'd look better on a red or white Jeep, maybe green if anyones interested. Thanks.

There is a guy on this forum that makes vinyl stickers that may work out for you. Here is a link to a thread:

I ordered the reflective black flags from them for mine.

Very cool. Black on black makes them stealth under normal light, but when light (headlights, streetlight, etc) hits them, they turn reflective silver.

Here are a couple of pics of them with and without light reflecting off them.

x2

Granted, my Jeep isn't black, but Anvil. I got the reflective black ones, and I love the way they look. They're subdued during the day, but they shine nice and bright at night.

Thank you for the pics. I also have a black jk. I was gonna go with the silver to match the sport and wrangler decals, but what you got is sweet!

Do you guys think the black reflective would look good on a white Jeep or should I go with just black?

I'm sure it would look good on white. Would probably have a graphite look when not reflecting, and silver when reflecting.

I took a couple of pics this morning that just happened to catch the decal in both modes (one pic used flash and reflected the decal).

I think it would look good but thats my opinion. Safer route is just black.

I run black reflective stickers on my silver JK and they look great. Here is a pic during the daytime of the black reflective stickers. There is a slight graphite tint to them but still have good contrast with the silver.

I would either go black, to match the rest of the factory accents, or like a light tan/khaki color would match up nicely, IMO.

This is from the Army Regulation that describes how to wear Army Uniforms. It describes why the star field is on the right side (reverse side flag) or the "charge" theory as you described it.
AR-670-1, 28-18 c. (2) Wear of full-color U.S. flag cloth replica
Quote:
The full-color U.S. flag cloth replica is worn so that the star field faces forward, or to the flag's own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer's right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the reverse side flag.

This. Flag always flies forward, As a vet myself, it is the only appropriate way to place a flag on a vehicle.

Here's a picture of where I put mine, and I have a reversed flag in the same spot on the opposite side. I went with reflective black as well. It really pops at night when it's got some light to reflect!

It looks like you've gotten your answers but I thought I'd give you my 2 cents worth.

I went through the same thing with my dark green JKU. I first got the all white one but didn't like the looks so I picked up a set from a company called Military Badges Wings Misc Decals Stickers Insignia Logos Vinyl (Pg 5) | Military-Graphics.com, I think they look lots better.

My first post on WranglerForum, and I'm looking for some input on what would be the best colour for the flag decal on my '05 Patriot Blue Unlimited. Of course, changing the stock decals is always an option too!
Thanx!

Any idea what color to put on a copperhead JKU? Would love to show my patriotism but at a loss for color to go well with the pearl copperhead. Also any ideas what to put over an unfortunate mishap involving a slight breeze and an unretained front door resulting in golf ball like dents in my cowls, and yes I said cowls, dented both about 30 minutes apart.

NOTE TO OTHERS: When reinstalling doors on your Jeep, immediately attach retainer straps. Only make that mistake twice...

Nice! Like that Scroll! What size is that? Looks about 5 or 6".

2nd Batt here; '90/91, then 14th M.I. LRSC '91-93.

An IR Scroll would look sweet along with one of those IR US flags!

...in Salute, thank you for your service Ranger! And one for the Airborne Ranger in the sky!!!

They are 6 inch. I went with the Subdued because they are more like the flags we had when deployed. IR would be cool, but I didn't find anywhere that offered them in a decal.

3/75 1998 thru 2003 ; 75th 2003 thru 2005.
