Things you don't like about Jeep JK?

The 2 things that I just don't care for are the stock fenders and front bumper! The great news is that this is an easy fix.
Anybody else?

Its not really a hate, but more annoying, the fog light controls and the cabin light controls.

Throttle lag. I hate drive by wire with a manual tranny.

Non-defeatable traction control. Overly complicated electrical system. Locker operation limitations.

Crappy paint job . My Toyota Tacoma which was cheaper and every other new vehicle I ever owned had great factory paint jobs.

Agree, pretty good in the main areas but there are areas that just got overspray.

Power. I love everything about my 10 jkur just wish it had a little more under the hood. This could be because my last vehicle was a 2013 mustang gt with 420hp lol.

Lot of little petty crap.....
Plastic sleeve on sunrider top.
Blasted zippers on top
Throttle lag.
Stock flares. (should be painted like on Sahara and have an off road style as an option.

There's one way I know of to completely get rid of the traction control. Obviously in 4 low it completely shuts off but in 4 high if u hold the traction control button for a while that will shut it off just like in 4 low. But yes it is a stupid system especially when u want to drift around some corners in the winter

Um throttle lag I like in the rocks. it makes for a softer pedal when I am crawling. i don't like the electronics being so overly complicated for tuning and adding extra gears like an atlas 4 speed in the automatic. They can't get it to work.

I wish the manual stick shift was a little taller or the center arm rest a little shorter.

The rear seat headsets should be removable.

Should have a lockable hood from factory.

Crappy sound system.

Mirrors should not be on doors.

The back seat sucks. I just can't figure out what the designers were thinking.

I like the back seats. A lot better than my past Jeeps. I like how they split, but do not like the gap when folded down.

I am not sure about all years, but I easily removed the headrests in my '12. Much better vision.

I took a quick look and didn't see how they could be removed. I have the ones that hinge back when the seats are down.

1st jeep I bought in dec got bought back by crysler after 3 months of fighting and service manager intervention . The one I have now was on assembly line right behind the previous one according to vin number and it has crappy paint job just not as bad at the time all I could see was pitted door hinges on the Passanger rear door. I was tired of the fighting and told them to give me can of spray paint. I still hadnt fixed it though

Ditto on this, and add in the rear bumper.

-Move the window crank back 3-4 inches, it hits my left knee.
-Too many pores and cracks on the dash for dirt to get into
-The leather cover for the stick shift. I like the accordion-style cover on the TJ's better
-Would like a fold-down tailgate instead of a swing-out, or at least make it swing out from the opposite direction (easier to load cargo from the sidewalk while parallel-parked).

For me it's the front windshield.
A magnet for every bug from miles around.

My biggest complaint is paying 30k for a vehicle with crank windows, manual locks and a stick. Not that I want them, but just blows the mind the amount of profit margin built into these.

the rear seat headrests are removable. Two buttons don't forget the center one. Pops right out.

You are right, I did a youtube search and there is a latch button and the headrest comes off. Problem is that the two metal rods stay on the seat like spikes. I need to go out and try to see if it's the same on the 2014.

I have. 13' Unlimited. Last winter was a bad one here in Indiana.. And i had a crack in my windsheild that eventually went across the whole front side. I filed it with my insurance and they replaced it. Annoying but thought that i was food for a while. Well less than 6 months later i had a pebble hit it and now another crack.. Told
Myself i would not replace this one unless the crack gets bigger.. Yesterday i was driving and got another crack.. I only drive my jeep 3 days a week so i find this very irritating.. Does anybody else have this problem with the windshield and if so any recommendations?

Thanks for the post and photo Pmryall. Mine don't look like that at all. The headrest rods are flat and hinge on the upper part of the back rest. When you fold the seats down, the headrest hit the back of the front seats and fold up.

There is a mechanism that releases the hinge when the seats are almost all the way folded down. It would be nice if there was a way to manually release it so that they could be folded back with the seats unfolded.

its not. Both buttons are on the drivers side of the post. Where my finger is pointing is the "hidden" button.

I personally don't like bug/rock shields, but it's a must with Wranglers.
