We got 4 grab handles and 2 coat hooks with ours as well as a locking lug on each wheel.

Bought splash guards as well as the hood strut kit. So much better not having to deal with grabbing the prop rod and having it be right smack dab in the middle of the engine compartment in the way.

I agree wholeheartedly about the Fuel Door.

We'll probably add sill guards too as we had them on the last one.

These "goodies" that everyone adds are left out of production to give the new Jeep owners(newbies) a place to start their addiction.....like baby steps..lol

No offense intended.....

I love making mine "personal" but some things like the fuel door (IMHO) just make sense.

To date, I have added grab handles (on roll bar), sil covers, fuel door, first aid kit and fire extingusher on rear roll bar uprights (left and right) bumper lights & windshield lights, tail light guards, fuel door, slush mats, shorty antenna, grill inserts, receiver tow hitch, hitch carrier, yellow light covers, Phillips headlight bulbs, and the wonderful door handle protectors.

Just a big 65 year old kid! THAT is the #1 fun part of a JK....being a kid again!!!!!!!

cu in oz, I forgot we bought the handle protectors too. How hard was it to get them in the right place? Also, can you see the edge of the white adhesive pads looking down at yours?

We got 4 grab handles, 4 slush mats and factory rain guards. You just have to tell them what you want before you sign on the dotted line.

I am disappointed that the JKs didn't come factory equiped with voltmeter and oil pressure gauges. I miss those from my ZJ.

Yeah, I love this vehicle like I cannot describe to you. First JEEP and all. But there's this obvious line that separates "mods" from "why wouldn't this actually be standard on a JEEP?" and IMO - the fact that there's a MOPAR fuel door that is $100+ is just a middle finger move. The floor liners - eh, a judgment call. I think it would be a super classy and helpful move if they (Chrysler) put the MOPAR slush mats (love 'em or hate 'em) the fuel door and a spare tire cover as standard accessories.

But it doesn't surprise me that they're not. This whole process has been my love of the vehicle overriding the failings of the Mfr., brand and dealers. I bought and love the vehicle DESPITE the fact that it's a Chrysler product. Not because of it.

Give this a look. They work for me. I built a small bracket that fits in the dash storage tray and lifts it high enough to see clearly. I wouldn't suggest one use the mounting arm that comes with it. Cheesy.

But it's hard to find a good place to mount it.

My kids think the roll down windows are the coolest thing ever. They also love racing to the other side to unlock the door for whoever is still getting in. Who knew manually rolling down windows and actually pulling door locks could be so fun!!!

I'm like everyone else. Locking lugs for the spare would have been nice, and a fuel door. Mesh grill inserts. But I can't wait to go make those myself!! Lots of great how - to's on here for that.

The grab handles should have come with your Jeep. Seems lots of them come up missing at the dealer. I wish mine would have come with footwell lighting. It was the first mod I did after debadging.

I added the Mopar fuel filler door as well.

I'm thinking about front mud flaps to keep the winter road crud off the doors. Right now I'm two-tone color: Dozer/Salt White.
My 2 door came with 4 strap on grab handles and one strap on coat hook from the factory in a bag in the glove box. Maybe that is just a Rubicon thing?

I take comfort in knowing it is the single most user customizable vehicle out there.

But I will admit, I get a little pissed/frowny face when I see something I like and look at the models available and don't see TJ. You JK guys will experience being the middle child one day lol!

Lower gears would've been nice :P I should be satisfied with the 4:10 but they're so dang expensive to regear!!

Oh and better headlights

I made paracord grab handles and grill inserts for mine it's nice receiving compliments on it and being able to say you made them

....I wonder if the 'mod it yerownself' is a soft intro to greater self reliance and determination of what it is that is and isn't necessary in *your* life regarding freedom of choice vs 'yer gonna get what WE decide you need'......

I like being able to hang the stuff *I* like on a basic framework, it adds to better understanding of and hobby-nature of being a Jeeper

Thanks, if you look in my build thread in my signature you can see how I mounted mine. Sorry, if I wasn't more clear. I was merely responding that they should have put them in from the factory, not that I don't have any now.

Also, I was very disappointed in the gearing from the factory on the automatic equiped Wranglers. They should have come with at least a 4.56 but in my opinion a 4.88 final drive gear ratio. That way the cruising RPM would have been closer to that of the 6-speed Rubicon. But then again, they may not have been able to get their CAFE rating high enough in stock trim with that low of a gear.

Mike.

Your Jeep has doors and a top? What? Is that standard equipment?

The fuel door would be nice with a remote open from inside...solves the lock problem too. I'm sure if they made it OEM, they could charge a bit more and be more profitable than aftermarket. I ordered the Mopar cap because I liked the looks and the install better than the others I looked at. Now if there was a way to add a latch and solenoid....

I never thought it would matter...but it would be nice to have a built in garage door opener transmitter. I worry about having mine in the car when I have the top off.

My wife always grabbed the rollbar on her '10 JKU to get in. She noticed on the 2012 JKU the hard top changed and now you can't get your fingers around it. They put a "lip" that goes almost down to the roll bar.
