This is probably a dumb question, but

what do you guys do with your old parts? I haven't done any major mods because I don't know what to do with the old stuff.

E.g., I've wanted a new bumper for months but I don't want to just throw the stock bumper out and I don't really have the garage space available to keep it lying around.

I haven't done it but Craigslist eBay and amazon are popular destinations. You can post in for sale forum here.

This is the winner. You can at least try to get some money back to pay for new mods or for the mods that you already owe for.

Craigslist, ebay, or the forum classifieds.

I need to do something with my stuff that has been laying around. I'll probably put it on Craiglist for cheap....probably for beer. (That way I don't have to ship anything).

I always post them up for free/ a beer or real cheap depending on part either on craigslist or a local forum. Some times I end up tossing them out.

Storage in the attic. That way if I sell it I can give all of the original parts to the new owner.

Send any and all used parts to me and I promise I will do my best to help you keep your garage clutter free.

I've got a bunch of CJ stuff sitting around in the garage at my rental property.. One of these days I need to inventory it and sell it!

D44's set up for SOA, flat top knuckles, d44 disc brakes front and rear, 2 d300 t-cases and a plethora of other Jeep junk that needs to go to make room for new Jeep junk

Sorry man, JK bumpers are literally worthless.

I've posted 2 for sale now with fogs, tow hooks etc for $1 and have had ZERO offers.

Recycle the plastic skin. Any recycle/transfer station will take it. Keep the fogs for that who knows what maybe someday probobly never project and donate the steel for scrap metal.

Or take a welding class at your local community college and start making JK take off parts furniture.

^ I have no takers on my stock wheels either. I even tried listing them free locally for awhile and no takers. I offered them to a few people with 16 inch stockers and they declined saying they would upgrade to aftermarket... They are going to the metal recycler before winter if nobody takes them soon.

I've kept all mine so far. I guess I just like having them in case I change my mind on a mod. But I also have a friend who has a JK and if I ever didn't want anything, I'd give it to him. We swapped tyres once not long ago, so I kinda owe him as I definitely got the better end of the deal there!
The other reason I like to keep them is in case I decide to sell. Sometimes it can be easier to sell with more stock stuff, and then maybe I could resell the mods.

If it's worth anything (like the wheels) sell in the classifieds and Craigslist. If it's not, toss it in the trash.

Stuff like the tie rod is not worth much and may be useful. So I kept my tie rod and have a spare front driveshaft that I would gladly give away to anyone that I wheel with if they break something.

I recently got new bumpers. My front was chopped into a stubby and the rear was smashed in a few places. I left them at the mod shop hoping they wouldn't make me take them.

I've kept virtually all of it - when the day comes to trade it in and get a new vehicle it's all going back on, because there's no way I'm going to get value for the after market parts from a dealer or even a private sale. The only exception is the OEM wheels which were taking up too much space - I got $750 for the full set and I reckon I'll be able to buy a used set for less than that when I come to sell, given I won't care how much life is left in the tires.

I sell mine to body shops. They tend to pay more. It takes a little work, but OEM parts are expensive to them. You have to stay with the local guys. The chains will not pay for them. I got 800 for my front bumper, stock rims, stock springs and shocks. About to sell the back bumper and side steps when I buy new ones. Craig's list is flooded with stock parts here. I adapted and overcame. Lol.

Yep CL is horrible here as well, either overpriced or near free if not free. Not worth the effort half the time either, fielding calls and no shows.

I'm afraid body shops are no good here either, most people with Wranglers upgrade, and don't replace stock stuff. I gave my front bumper cover to a friend because he got a dent in his from a hit and run and didn't want to upgrade yet.
