This weekend.

Just thought I'd share my 500+ mile adventure this weekend. I drove from austin, tx to bryan, tx to visit friends at texas a&m (huge on wheeling and basically all the trucks and jeeps are lifted with big tires), got a few compliments from randoms there on the jeep and my pro comp 7031's, felt good. little did they know I am a longhorn

but...since I've heard so much about death wobble and uselessness of the 6th gear, I wanted to see what my jeep could handle (speed wise)...after bryan, tx I left to dallas at 330 am (went to see family). ZERO cars on the road. I drove the jeep to it's limit for approximately 2.5 straight hours, the fuel economy went from 15.5 up to 17.9. I was shocked because the speed I was driving and for how long I was driving. zero occurrence of death wobble, the jeep handled so smooth around curves, bumps, etc. also, I got to use my rigids a lot and DAMN, they are so much brighter than I thought. I could see what felt like a mile down the road and so much wider so I felt comfortable driving fast through deer country.

basically I got to really push my new 3.6L 6spd and was extremely pleased. A++.

I collected tons of little friends along the way too...

also! I didn't have to pay for a hotel because I had one in my jeep, one hour power nap in the back...1 hour of sleep in the last 48 hours.

my bed. first time sleeping in the jeep and probably not my last. got me thinking of ways I could get some memory foam and make a bed that could extend out for camping if I opened the gate....

I hope you were appropriately armed, going into College Station like that. Visiting humans, farm animals...nothing is safe.
