Question Tie rod ends and Ball joints

In my ever lasting quest to cure this nasty Death Wobble, Im about to change out my Tie rod ends and Ball joints. Im at just about 75,000 miles anyways so I figure its time.

Im a little torn however about choices and am wondering if I can get some feedback.

Heres what Im looking at now:

Ball Joints:
Synergy upper and lower Ball joints

Moog tie rod ends and drag link end
Right side - ES800593
Left side outer(at knuckle)- ES800594
Drag link at pitman arm - ES3624

I see that Synergy also makes a HD tie rod with ends but at a significant increase in price. Is this worth it or should I keep with the setup I have now. Or, is there an entirley diffrent setup I should be looking at?

a little on what I have now, 2007 JKUS 2.5 inch lift pro comp lift, JKS track bar, JKS upper controll arms. rest is stock

Any and all input welcome.

If you wheel your jeep at all in rocky trails the HD tie rod would be the way to go. I went with the Currie HD tie rod and OMIX ball joints.

The synergy are good to from what I have read.

I don’t do a lot a wheeling, just the occasional back road and trail. I’m more interested in fixing the DW. As I replace the parts that go I’m also doing my best to upgrade as much as my wallet will allow.

I ended up purchasing the Synergy Ball joints as I have also heard good things but I’m still in the air about the tie rod ends. If I stay with Synergy on those, I have to replace the bars as well ($$$$)

I think I’ll just do the 3 with Moog and call it a day. It’s getting expensive.

My stock ball joints went out at 8,000 miles. With the 35" tire and moderate rock trails they just dont hold up very well.

Any aftermatrket is probably better tahn stock. If your in there anyway replace the tie rod ends also.

I havent found anything cheap when it comes to a Jeep and suspension related parts.

Have someone shake the steering wheel back and forth while looking for any movement on the ends. Then jack up the tires and grab the top and bottom of the tire and push in on one and pull out with the other a few times, it should not move any at all.

thanks, when you mention push and pull do you mean push on the top part of the wheel and pull on the bottom and vice versa to check for movement?

Yes. You can also get it to where it is just off the ground and stick a pry bar under it and see if it will move any.

did you install the grade 8 bolt kit upgrade? shouldered bolts on the trackbar make a world of difference.

My ball joints were shot at 23k alloys in it now.
both tie rod ends were toast as well. i went with the moogs. they rust really quick so hit them with paint before you install

I haven't purchased the "upgrade kit" per sai, but I have purchased grade 8 bolts from Lowes which fit much more snug for the track bar.

As for moog rust, I've read many sources that say the same thing. Any paint recommendation?

Well here’s a surprising update, I logged into Quadratec for an update on my ball joints in which I paid extra for expedited shipping and guess what... on back order. This would normally be no big deal except that I had called and they confirmed that they were indeed in stock. I did a little digging on the interwebs and come to find out, Poly performance not only had them in stock, but cheaper and gave me free 2 day shipping. Looks like this weekend’s bonding time is going to happen after all - thanks Poly Performance, I’ll remember this.
