Tire & lift questions

I have a 08' 2door, and i want to put a 3" or 4" lift. Then i was thinking about 33" Pro Com all terrain, with black alum wheels. The tires sizes i have looked at are 33" 12.50r-15. Does anyone have a picture of something similar that i can judge from? Also, is there anything i should think about before doing these changes?

Think about buying longer Drive Shafts. Make sure the 15 inch wheels clear the Calipers. Otherwise go with 16 inch.

IMO 4" is too much for 33s. With 3.5-4" lift 35s would look way better.

For 33s I would install only 2" of lift.

A friend will buy 2" spacers and 285/75R16 (33x10.5x16) tires for her 4-door JK in the next weeks.

3-4" is massive overkill for 33's

Go with the 2" Old Man Emu lift- not a lot of $, no frills, but high quality, and it'll fit 33's nicely.
On that note, you COULD fit 33's under a stock JK if you're not going for massive flex without any lift at all, no problems. If you were staying with stock wheels, you would need spacers. Otherwise, nada- Mark W.

Thanks for info, but i wanted to see what the tires looked like from a front view. I want to get that "fat" look. On spacers i was told that i should use a lift kit, and not just the spacers. Can anyone explain why? Will it hurt my jeep if i just used 2" spacers? Sorry for all the questions, i'm just new to all this stuff.

Gotcha:
I meant wheel spacers. They add to your track width by spacing the wheel away from the brake rotor.
As for lift, yes- spacers are the much less desirable way to add lift. They are also called budget boosts. They are less good because they massively increase the load on the stock springs, causing them to wear out. New springs are better- the OME can also come with a few different spring options, and their shocks are top notch- Mark W.

Why do thy increase the load on the spring?
The Jeeps weight is still the same. Only the control arm angle changes a bit.

Your springs are new and not worn out (08 JK)? Then spring spacers are a good and cheap option.

do u mean spring spaces, or wheel spacers. with wheel spaces a lift might be needed with real wide tires so u dont rub on the outside edges of ur fenders. but spring spacers are a form of lift.

wheel spaces shouldnt do anything to do with the supension, u are only moving the wheel like an inch out, kinda like a cheap form of changin up ur backspacing

yeah, but he says "fat look", and lift spacers aint gona do that alone. and it does kinda make sense to run wheel spacers with a lift. moving the wheels outwards more could risk rubbing the outer sides of his fenders if he wants to run 12.50 inch wide tires if there was no lift, hence y he was told a lift would be a good idea with spacers

12.5" tires won't rub on a JK/LK unless you do it on OEM wheels. On aftermarket wheels with proper backspacing (4.5" for 17", 4" for 16", 3.75" for 15"), no problem, mon You MAY rub at full lock, but how often are you really at full lock at any speed? And even then, very gently, if at all- Mark W.

yea you need one of these bumbers out there i could just see the looks on peoples faces. do you get fog lights in the outside vent hole things on the rubi? and your right that euro bumber is @$$ ugly whats with the flaps that come up to attach to the fenders no go in my opinion
